tardotz
They will do alright tomorrow. People at work that don't follow football all said they will be watching. I guess this is like people watching the Olympic events that they don't usually follow. Wanderboy and wendybr 2 Link to comment

You don't need to look too hard to find examples of one code pushing their agenda at the expense of any other. Just like any corporate they will crush all that stand in their way and won't stop until they're told to (or by a regulator or government agency or whatever). The suits may enjoy lunches and networking drinks etc, but they won't hesitate to take an advantage. It's dog eat dog. sonar 1 Link to comment

Carns
On 11/13/2017 at 7:34 PM, Carns said: I imagine this is due to them being concerned we're trying to steal their tactics. Their coach was quoted as saying someone inside the Honduran camp was leaking info to Australian staff. The coach yesterday accused Australia on spying on the Honduran training session with a drone. It was later discovered that it was kids playing with a drone in a nearby park. Needless to say, this excuse did not satisfy the Honduran boss. Quote Spying allegations were directed at the Socceroos on Monday after the Honduran football association caught sight of a drone hovering above their training session at ANZ Stadium. The team promptly tweeted a video of the small device next to the caption: "Australia spy Honduras training from a drone, which caused upset to the team and Honduran delegation." While FFA's media staff had used a drone in Honduras to film Australia's training sessions, it denied having anything to do with Monday's incident. Upon investigation by Sydney Olympic Park officials, the drone was found to belong to children playing in the nearby Cathy Freeman Park. It was subsequently grounded to comply with the complex's rules. But asked about it on Tuesday Pinto was having none of it, even suggesting Australian officials had inspected every nook and cranny in San Pedro Sula in case they'd been bugged before the weekend's first-leg scoreless draw. "The incident is embarrassing for such an advanced country," Pinto said. "When Australian went to Honduras they checked every bathroom, every box at the stadiums where they trained and where they had the official training. "The videos show more than anything a drone can show. It just takes some of the merit away from the fair play and sporting event that will be held tomorrow. "Let's not be innocent, it's espionage in football. "Just like VAR (video assistant referee) has made it into football, drones have made their way into espionage. Pinto, who this week also claimed a Honduran journalist had been leaking information to Australia, was happy to maintain the tension with the Socceroos camp. Asked if his team would deploy long balls at ANZ Stadium, the 64-year-old threw in a little dig at Socceroos boss Ange Postecoglou. "Without a doubt we'll be employing long balls tomorrow," he said. "So if the head coach of Australia is watching this press conference he has some insight into the game." The Honduran squad, who have previously suspended captain Maynor Figueroa and speedy winger Alberth Elis back in their arsenal, finally arrived in Sydney on Monday morning nearly a day after Australia. "Regardless of the incident of the drone, and also journalists in Honduras leaking information about our team, we have been very comfortable here," Pinto said. "Yesterday when the team arrived they didn't sleep at all until the night ... we got a good night's sleep and my team will be 100 per cent physically. "For the game we need to have a cold head but hot blood. We must be very aggressive throughout the 90 minutes. "Honduras has recently played some very good football. We lacked that in the first game, but we know the boys can turn it around." http://theworldgame.sbs.com.au/article/2017/11/14/its-espionage-honduras-continue-drone-wars To me, he is simply trying to deflect the attention away from his team, and onto the Roos. I do admire his commitment though Link to comment
Davo
The best response I've seen to the drone accusation is that the FFA are nowhere near smart enough to think up something devious like that. Carns, Sithslayer1991, SomeGuy1977 and 2 others 2 3 Link to comment

Paul01
Game day. I reckon Leckie in for Risdon, Milligan in for Jedinak. Degenek in for Wright, Kruse in for Irvine all due to fresh legs. Rogic possibly in for Luongo and Cahill for Juric. Only players that will likely hold their spots are Ryan, Sainsbury, Jurman, Behich, and Mooy. Honduras will get Elis (speed merchant) and Maynor Figuroa back from suspension. Also expect Costly to start up front. Hopefully, a 2-1 win Link to comment

Nah. 0-0 in Honduras and 0-0 tonight it's penalties, any score draw Honduras win on away goal rule. Aus win and we qualify. Wobblies
Unless I'm mistaken penalties only apply if the game ends in a 0-0 draw, if Australia wins 2-1 then then it's off to Russia for Aust. sonar and papersun 2 Link to comment

papersun
It's supposed to be close to a sellout, maybe around 70,000. Another question, if I arrive at the ground at 6.45pm approx how long do think it would it normally take to get to get to my seat, I'm thinking in terms of queues outside the ground? Link to comment

Yeah, i'm just thinking in terms of definitely getting there in time to watch the teams warm up and not having been to ANZ for a long time, how long I could be waiting outside the ground to get in? I tend to overestimate possible delays but I prefer to be on the safe side. Link to comment
