Didn't realize Baird was also the Minister for Western Sydney. Cough new stadium Cough.

Needs a WSW sign on top of that building so half of Sydney can see it at night....

Plus a light on the roof that makes to crest illuminate in the night sky, similar to the Batman light

The article mentioned that they are currently looking at plans to speed up train travel times between Central & Parramatta to 15 minutes. Yes please

When the XPT to Brisbane can only travel a maximum of 80km/h on long stretches of railway almost no one uses? Fat chance

Change "are getting rid of" to "have received enough bribes and kickbacks to remove".

It's probably a lot to do with the fact that Melbourne now has something like 8 of the 10 tallest buildings in this country. Also at the moment,  Melbourne are in the process of building a 320m high building next to the casino. It's making Sydney look like a midget. They are also catching us in population. So it is a bit of an attempt to get back in the pissing contest.

I don't give the height limits much chance though as the aviation authorities won't budge. Sydney is full of red tape when it comes to building things. They will probably get a 250m tower at most. Still good for Parra though.

A brawl has broken out during a child's birthday party at a play centre in Sydney's south-west, with several men taken to hospital for treatment.

About 4:30pm yesterday, police were called to the Lollipops Playland indoor play centre on McIlwraith Street, Wetherill Park, following reports of a brawl.

According to witnesses, a 48-year-old man approached another man, who was with a different group, about a minor incident on the play equipment involving their children.

A group of men then allegedly assaulted the 48-year-old man and he fell to the ground.

Two men from his group, aged 27 and 32, were also allegedly assaulted when they came to his aid.

The attackers then ran from the children's play centre and left in their cars.

NSW paramedics took to the injured men to Fairfield Hospital for treatment of injuries to the face, head, back and hands.

Police established a crime scene which was examined by specialist forensic officers.

They have appealed for information from the public about the incident and said an investigation into the incident is now underway.

What would you most like for your birthday little Timmy?

"Can you stomp on that guy's head please dad?"

You got it son. I'll even give him a kick in the scrotum too.

"I love you dad"

As people have said previously, suprised this doesn't happen more often but....

Seriously if you can't control yourself and feel the need to physically assault someone whilst the most vulnerable of our community are within the vicinity (children), then really what has this world come to???

I know these type of parents well, I invariably end up standing next to them at kid's parties, kid's soccer matches, school concerts etc etc.

They are faced with a lifetime of Toyota Tarago ownership and the loss of their weekends, no more modified cars or nightclubs so they still try and maintain this bravado act to show they 'still have it'.

You can find them at the traffic lights wanting to fight because they tried to race you in their Jeep Grand Cherokee and got an ass whipping in front of their wife.

Defective E10 petrol is being blamed for up to 20 cars breaking down on a major Sydney motorway this morning, with Caltex saying the fuel came from one service station.

Most drivers managed to pull into the breakdown lane of the M4, several reportedly only metres from the service station, and their vehicles were towed away a short time later.

Caltex Australia spokesman Sam Collyer said E10 fuel purchased from its Eastern Creek service station was behind the breakdowns.

"We've shut down the pumps for that product so that no other customers will be affected," he said.

Mr Collyer confirmed the petrol was contaminated by water, which either seeped into an underground storage tank or a line feeding the tank.

He said Caltex Australia was confident the problem was isolated to the Eastern Creek E10 bowsers and customers filling up at other Caltex locations around Sydney should not be concerned.

"What we're asking our customers to do, if they've filled up with the E10 product this morning, [is] contact our customer service team, hold on to their receipt and get in contact with our team so we can assist them," he said.

Caltex to reimburse breakdown costs

Mr Collyer said Caltex Australia would reimburse customers for any costs and damage incurred as a result.

"We appreciate that we've caused some inconvenience this morning and we want to rectify that," he said.

"If there's a situation where we've caused an issue or our fuel hasn't met the high quality standards that we would expect of our fuel, then we'll be assisting our customers."

Commuter Laurie said he saw many of the broken down cars as he was driving along the M4.

He told Sydney radio station 2UE they were barely 500 metres from the Caltex petrol station when they broke down.

"There was about eight cars, 50 metres apart, with their hazards on, all broken down," he said.

"They'd only made it half a kilometre from the servo."

Another caller, Keith, told 2UE his car had broken down shortly after he drove away from the petrol station.

"I've just been on to the NRMA, they've just come out here, they've had between four and six cars break down after leaving that petrol station," he said.

Customers who have experienced mechanical issues as a result of the petrol are advised to keep their receipt and call Caltex Australia's customer service centre on 1800 240 398.

Why does nothing interesting like that happen at the kids parties I go to. I would love to see some of the parents go at each other at the ones I go to.
