Around the Bloc S04E06: Joga Uglito

ATB’s resident Asian football expert, Alan Mtashar, guest hosts and the podcast gains a new member. The Wanderers won for the second game in a row, the away day was awesome and the RBB senate hearing is summed up in about ten minutes.

Everything’s coming up Around the Bloc.

Another great podcast!

The longer the better as it helps get through the middle of the working week.

Also serious question; has anyone thought about turning this into a video series rather than just a podcast?

We've thought about it, then realised we all have heads for radio.

In all seriousness; Screen presence is a whole other kettle of fish and skill compared to merely talking into a microphone.

Its also harder to watch a bunch of dudes and girl talk for up to 2 hours compared to merely listening to them and not seeing how they fidget, check their phone, drink and eat when they aren't talking.

Also, how are people supposed to listen at work or whilst they are walking to public transport if they have to watch instead? ;)

A Vodcast is one thing (ie round table discussions), but if you're suggesting any form of production values and going around to other locations like Bay 46 show is trying to do...that just changes the entire dynamic and scope of what ATB is. It also changes the amount of work involved for pre and post production.

Not fobbing you off, we have briefly discussed it and even suggested live shows (lol). Baby steps.

(the above are all my own opinions and not necessarily those shared by the entire ATB team - Turner would love to have his face on YouTube every week)

Had a chuckle at this.

Completely understand what you said, was just curious if you guys had thought of doing it before.

Still and will continue to enjoy the podcast, keep up the good work!

Personally I think a live show is more likely than a youtube series, but thats just a more familiar environment for me having played in bands and stuff. We would need to be far more engaging with an audience though if we were ever going to do that.
