Australian Stadiums Discussion (Excluding Parramatta)

Recommended Posts

I like the armada of Teslas in the first pic. Also that roof is classic pre-approved stadium render material. If it ever goes ahead that’s the first thing they’ll drop to meet the budget.

It appears since ANZ is being redeveloper next year..

Bunnies and the dogs will move their home games to bankwest.. Even the tigers play there..

Pitch will suck once aleague starts...

Does this mean that both the SFS and ANZ stadiums will be out of action at the same time for a year or two?

Makes sense for South Sydney to be based out of Parra! This is messed up.

Yup. The Govt want all the stadium stuff done before the next election.

The big thing is that our season doesn’t get impacted. Play as many games you want out of the stadium, as long as the playing surface is good from October to April.

A stadium in Parramatta will be the home ground for:

- a Canterbury/Bankstown team

- a Redfern team

- a Leichhardt/Campbelltown team

How good’s modern sport hey - and people wonder why no one turns up to NRL games anymore

Can only hope Bankwest is better next Saturday. At least it has 6 days to recover after the NRL game tomorrow.

Just hope we don’t get a home semi in May. The playing surface will feel like a cow paddock.

I know, how bout those semi finals we played in front of a packed home crowd at a ground we’ve never lost a knockout game? Terrible.

What about that time we came back from 0-3 down. That was a disgrace.

sorry dude, I know what you meant, I just had to take the piss out of the idea of not wanting a home final

Posted this in the Macarthur FC section and forgot about this thread.

Another mob flashing around imaginary stadium images... getting sick of seeing these without any hard facts or plans.

Theres a claim in the comments section that they’ve already sold some boxes to this stadium?!

Geez, most of the comments on that link hurt my brain.

That would cost as much as a new stadium.

I still think wasting money upgrading Campbelltown is idiotic when there's a huge amount of land that could be bought to build a boutique stadium & licensed venue, training facility & administration offices.

The $729 million knock-down and rebuild of the Sydney Football Stadium has been thrown into chaos after the NSW government said construction giant Lendlease would not complete the project.

Sports Minister John Sidoti said Lendlease had not been able to meet the government's requirements to rebuild the stadium on the Moore Park site on budget by 2022.

"The project budget for Sydney Football Stadium is $729 million which includes stage one [demolition] and stage two [reconstruction] works," Mr Sidoti said.

"Lendlease’s stage two offer did not meet the government’s expectations so we are looking for another builder in a competitive market."

The government announced in December 2018 that Lendlease was the "construction contractor" for the entire project.

Stage one, the demolition of the previous stadium, which opened in January 1988, has been mostly completed.

Wowee that’s not what you want to hear when it’s been demolished...

It’s a shame Leichhardt has such poor traffic flow around the stadium because I reckon that would be perfect for Sydney to redevelop and play out of
