Means nothing if he can’t influence the guys above him. Being a patsy for those twits is not much to be proud of.

To be fair, he’s probably trying. But trying ain’t good enough. He’s part of it now, he’s got to go too.

Kerry Packer himself would’ve struggled to make something of the A-League with the way the FFA is...

Interesting little nugget out of the article stated that Foxtel had an agreement where by Ten had to show the games but any advertising revenue went to Foxtel. Ten have no incentive but despite how badly the ratings & current broadcast deal has gone, they are still interested? Find it hard to believe...

They've got nothing else and are desperate for live sport content. A-league is dirt cheap too.

The thing with Gallop is he could genuinely resign and not realise that he's done it on April first.

They're all like "ha good one Dave" and then Tuesday rolls around and his desk is still empty.

So, how will they know he's gone?

Football Federation Australia statement on Sydney Cricket Ground

Quote

Football Federation Australia will meet tomorrow with Sydney FC and the Sydney Cricket Ground Management regarding concerns over the playing surface after last night’s game between Sydney FC and Melbourne Victory.

The Head of the Hyundai A-League Greg O’Rourke said: “Last night’s conditions were unacceptable. If we are not confident that the ground will improve significantly then alternate venues would be sought in the future for Sydney FC home matches.”

“Whilst FFA understands the current demands on the surface, which now sees five codes using the ground, it appears that the needs of our code around surface condition may not be able to be met, despite the best intentions of all parties.”

“The processes we have in place approved the surface last night as playable and safe. These processes include pitch inspections in the days leading up to the game and on game day by Sydney FC, SCG, the match commissioner and the referees.”

“It goes without saying, we wish Terry Antonis a quick return to playing,” he said.

Mr O’Rourke said player safety and quality of surface is treated seriously by FFA: “We will sit down tomorrow and review the decision leading up to last night’s game. If we are not comfortable with the process undertaken, we will have no hesitation in finding a better way for next season,” he said.

“We are committed to working towards playing on fewer venues which host multiple codes. Expansion teams Western United and South West MacArthur will both have minimal use from other codes in their stadiums in the long term, which is what we all need to work towards,” Mr O’Rourke said.

How can the FFA say "Last night’s conditions were unacceptable" and in the same press release say “The processes we have in place approved the surface last night as playable and safe"? Either their processes are inadequate or they are not competent enough to follow their processes effectively.

Well, no, what he said makes sense.

 "Last night’s conditions were unacceptable"

They were.

“The processes we have in place approved the surface last night as playable and safe"

They did.

Reading between the lines, he's saying that the processes they use are inadequate - something has broken down or gone wrong in that system.

Yeah, The inspectors don't have a clue what an acceptable pitch looks like!

Gallop added: "Week in, week out, you're in a position where what you do is reviewed. It's a position that is under scrutiny and we're all used to that, Luke included.

This is after he mentioned that there will be no inquiry into the Stajcic sacking.. Doesn't make sense lol sounds like they do want anyone looking into this sacking outside of the board itself

Then i read this, i hope he takes the job and leaves the FFA with another **** up on their list of **** ups

Matildas coach linked to A-League job

Ante Milicic has become the prime coaching candidate for incoming A-League side Macarthur South West United.

The Daily Telegraph reports Milicic is the frontrunner with the club keen to make an appointment before next season - giving their first coach a full year to get the team ready before they enter the A-League in 2020.

Milicic is currently in charge of the Matildas and will lead them into the World Cup with his long-term future still unclear.

Football Federation Australia are reportedly keen to extend his reign in charge but Milicic would stand to earn more if he accepted the role in charge of Macarthur.

The salary cap needs to go but I don’t think it changes much in Asia. If you take the foreigners out of 90% of teams competing in the ACL, they’re pretty average sides who’d struggle to compete with us. They just have enormous amounts of money to spend on foreigners who are game changers

That might be true of the Chinese sides, but not the South Korean ones or the Japanese teams. Some of them play with no or or only a couple of foreign players.

If you took foreign players out they would hammer the Australian teams.
