Should the money, Melbourne City spend on Marcus Gomes be included in the Aleague salary cap, he is using the Melbourne city facilities. I would love to see all the Aleague teams have FIFA esports teams and the Aleague operate a season long competive league with the matches being played at half time on the big screens at the stadiums.

City have some anxious moments, however, as they wait for news of an ankle injury to skipper Bruno Fornaroli, stretchered off in the first half.

6-8 weeks out with ankle surgery.

brandan recovering. Fornaroli out. Tim Cahill gets his chance to lead their line.

Jakobsen went off with back spasms.

You have to look at what CFG want out of the club. If they want to win titles then he has no real history of success at first team level. If you look at Melbourne City as a feeder club or somewhere to park players they have on the books then his history as a reserve team coach is relevant and actually pretty good.

He spent 8 years as the manager of the Manchester United Reserves and developed players like Pogba, Rashford, Lingard etc. CFG are probably looking to use their dodgy loan system to suck up all the promising you talent in Australia, then use a good reserve team manager to develop them to a level they can sell for a profit (i.e. the Mooy strategy).
