BohemianDublin Posted July 12, 2017 Share Posted July 12, 2017 Racing & Football is a good option in Melbourne this season. Melbourne does racing a lot better than it does football. Derby Day (Sat 4), is good but nowadays overcrowded. Melbourne Cup (Tue 7), is sh1te, overcrowded, over-priced and unless you like walking over vomit, avoid. (Good fun in a decent pub in Melbourne, mind) Oaks Day (Thur 9), is good. Ladies Day, girls dress-up seriously and it can get very distracting. Stakes Day (Sat 11), in my humble opinion, is now the best day at Flemington. Busy (but not over-crowded). Still fairly fancy scenery. And good racing too. Link to comment
