wendybr
So....it's 8.15. I've been up since 4.46 - because I went to bed about 10 - exhausted. I'm showered, and breakfasted, I sent off 7 emails before 6AM this morning, and am about to start a Team meeting with colleagues. I do want my old life back, but I fully appreciate that I am so much more fortunate than so many others around the world at this time. Hope you home schoolers …. and others... all have a happy day! But I found it unrelenting, and even though, on a normal day, I get little time to sit around and chat, I missed the social interactions. I could hardly bring myself to sit at the computer yesterday, so exhausted was I by working there all last week. I'm used to having to bring work home, but it kind of brings work right into your home in a profound way. We're having an office lunch today, spouses invited. Prydzopolis and alexd 2 Link to comment
MartinTyler
Just finished watching The English Game on Netflix. Well worth a look if you're interested in the origins of the professional game and the conflict between the 'Old Boy' establishment and the emerging Northern (working class) clubs in the 1880s. marron
Watched the ad. It was Netflix ad so I pretty much saw the whole thing. Definitely enough to tell that is was pretty fanciful overall though - lots of drama that wasn't there, even if the overall idea has a semblance of truth. Smoggy and Prydzopolis 2 Link to comment

marron
I watched a couple of episodes of STID recently and actually found it pretty ho-hum. A little depressing as well, obviously - both in terms of the amounts of money and the familiarity of the tale and the way the fans are the same as fans everywhere really, I mean, we all kid ourselves don't we. But I didn't find it that interesting to watch, just sort of plodded along, didn't seem like they'd done much, the makers of it I mean. I know that on one level the events are just telling their own story, it's all real, but I like docos to kind of do something with the material, you know, give a little bit of focus to certain aspects in an episode or whatever. Won't be drinking, the doctor has me on a health kick :| Won't be watching porn all day. At least, not while the kids are around Otherwise, all of the above. We have a quad bike we may bust out, depending on the weather. BBQ is also a good option. Personally, I'm hoping to be bored. It's been crazy AF, so some downtime is in order.
