Can we trust this one?

Melbourne City duo Bruce Kamau and Ruon Tongyik are set for a stunning switch to Western Sydney Wanderers for the start of 2018-2019 A-League campaign.

The Covert Agent can reveal the pair are in discussions with the Wanderers and a deal is close to being completed that would see them reunite next season with Josep Gombau, who coached both at Adelaide United.

Gombau is believed to be keen to sign his former proteges as he attempts to rebuild the Western Sydney squad with players that suit his coaching style.

If true it would appear that City are fools gold.

I don't see why not. They are both off contract, both seemingly got on well with Gombau and would be two of the better players (or perhaps, good young players with high potential) coming off contract.

So I ran into Vedran and asked him if he’s staying next season.

Said he doesn’t know yet and that it’s up to the club.

Make of that what you will but it sounds like he’s heading elsewhere.

I wouldn't read too much into that. Contract decisions are usually handled late by the club.

Mrcela is the perfect (non foreign) upgrade on Cornthwaite. We need a calm, tall defender.

From my understanding, his contract expires in December.

He's the guy who verbally said he'd join back in mid 2016, just to take a plane to South Korea instead. After that we' signed Cornflakes

Happens all the time. His then club tried to make some coin. We wouldn't have to deal with the thugs from Zagreb.

A quick list of free CB's born between 1983 - 1989. Some will have moved on or retired.

Some also highly unsuitable.

Hopefully he's the only one on the list.

I didn't filter properly :sorry:

Not to worry, Iv'e seen some defenders recently who have given wonderful impressions of demised players. No names mentioned  to protect the guilty.

Looking through the results in that table, I’d say we’d have much better luck with a player still under contract.

Preferably tried and tested, or at least via a strong recent recommendation from one of the Spanish contacts.
