Complete revamp of NPL mens and youth for 2019.

After re-reading this.

NSW NPL Youth is now u13, u14, u15, u16 and u18. There will be 4 divisions of 12 teams with 1 & 1/2 promotion relegation spots based on an unweighted championship tally based on u14/15/16 and maybe u18.

Senior NPL is mens (HAL teams have an age limit) and u20s with 4 divisions of 12 teams. They also have 1 & 1/2 promotion relegation spots based mens only.

Apparently we have a new Goalkeeper. I wonder if this is the guy Mulvey was waxing lyrical over

“Jack Greenwood is another player to watch. After previously playing for Central Coast and Spirit FC, the 18-year-old goalkeeper made his Wanderers Academy debut last Sunday and made a number of good saves in the match.”

Just for reference purposes.

Sydney Olympic Football Club today announced the appointment of Olympic Hall of Fame Legend Ante Juric as their new General Manager – Football.

Juric is a former Socceroo, who played over 200 matches for Sydney Olympic in the National Soccer League (NSL) and was captain of the Championship winning Olympic team that won the NSL title in 2002.

Off the field Juric has held a number of key Technical and Coaching positions which include most recently: Women’s Technical Director at Football NSW and Assistant National Technical Director at Football Federation Australia. In addition to these roles, Ante has also held current assistant coach roles with the Matildas and Head Coach roles with the Young Matildas. Juric has also performed the role of Opponent/Analyst Scout for both the Socceroos and Matildas squads.

Juric is currently the Head Coach of the Sydney FC W-league squad and will continue to perform this role while employed as General Manager – Football at Sydney Olympic.

Sydney Olympic Chief Executive John Boulous was excited about Juric joining the club;

“The Club’s Directors are committed to a vision of making Olympic the club of choice for the most talented male and female players and coaches in the country. Ante’s appointment will help us achieve this."

“We are creating a football environment that is unrivalled at National Premier League level and the appointment of Ante in this role, in addition to the recent confirmation of Club legend Abbas Saad to oversee our Men’s 1st team and Senior Program, gives both our own players and coaches the best opportunity to reach their potential"

“As a Club we are aiming for both success on the field at all levels and retaining and recruiting the very best players. The appointment of Ante and Abbas in full time capacities to drive our Football programs will support this intent” Boulous added.

Ante Juric was delighted to be joining Sydney Olympic;

“To hold such an important position at a Club that I am passionate about is a huge honour.”

“I am looking forward to overseeing and working with all Coaches and Players to create a high performance football program and environment that gives our male and female players the best possible chance to succeed.”

Juric will focus for the remainder of the season on actively coaching both the Under 18 and 20 squads, as well as supporting the Youth, Women’s and SAP programs. He will also focus on the Club’s planning of its football programs, coach appointments, player advancement, recruitment and retention for next season.

Juric will start in the role once his commitments with Football NSW finish later this month.

Regards,

John Boulous
Chief Executive Officer

This weekend the academy teams (u13 to u16) play their smurf counterparts at Lambert Park. Currently, these teams do not play home and away, so this is the only meeting of these sides this season.

Bizarre that our U18s and u20s both play Mt Druitt Rangers in the semi-finals

in a bizarre quirk, the Mariners u18s and u20s both play Hills United in their semis.

could we have 2 Grandfinals of Wanderers vs Mariners in u18s and u20s?

Watched the u20's, talk about very nearly throwing it all away.

Our Captain one hell of a good game though.

Have you heard who their playing in the GF?

The game between the Mariners and Hills only shows 0-0 on the Football NSW website

Nah I tried to find out when I got home but nothing as yet.

Here you go for next weeks Grandfinals

U18 Sea Bogans v Wanderers

u20 Wanderers v Hills United

Hills u20s beat Mariners u20s on penalties after a scoreless draw after extra time. Results between Wanderers u20s and Hills u20s are even during the regular season 0-1 and 2-1

Results for sea bogans u18s are also even with results 3-1 and 0-1
