Well it's on all the news reports this morning.

Mack reported it 7 hours ago though. I started work this morning at 3.30, and up until about 6am, still no reports anywhere.

You have to expect recriminations when you get pumped 2-8. I would expect our club to take the same type of action if we ever get smashed like that. The Mariners are proof positive that trying to win anything by doings things on the cheap does not work.

It's going to take some major monetary investment by the owners to turn them around because if they don't there will be a case for their licence to go to a franchise or club that will invest.

Is there really any point sacking mulvey

it’s the same **** every season

Plenty of clubs who have this problem, deluded to think of sacking the coach will solve the club’s problems.

The interview with jack clisby was telling, sounded like a fractured dressing room & Mulvey hinted at some negative presense not just in the dressing room but at the club

Who would want the CCM job....Mulvey the fall guy for a club in an awful mess on and off the pitch....

Scrap CCM and start from fresh in Wollongong...its the kindest thing to do.

Yeah...i am surprised he didnt walk himself weeks ago. Many managers would havd walked away long before this point....Mulvey clung to the sinking mariners ship for too long. Them sacking him is a joke really.

As the manager Mulvey has to take ultimate responsibility. Tbh the first of Wellingtons goals was against the run of play and you could see when the second went it their heads dropped......The two lads on loan from the UK would be wondering wtf is going on........lol.

those 2 UK boys are really poor signings, I don't think they have improved the Mariners in any capacity or whatsoever and what is the point of signing young foreign players where you have pretty much the same or maybe better players in Australia at their age?

As for the Mariners, the whole club has a problem... up until Charlesworth bought the club, the Mariners were competitive, they were consistently making the finals, after Charlesworth bought the club, they have only made the finals twice but thats because of Arnie. If Charlesworth thinks not spending the entire cap but its ok to sign players on the cheap, then they are going to have this kind of result. To me it's more like trying to balance the books and trying to make the club at least profitable. Charlesworth is not a football guy, he's a businessman and he's treating the Mariners like a business rather than a football club. And because there's no Pro/Rel, they can get away with this kind of performance so easily and there's no consequences of poor performances.

Mallon has a bit going for him.....he put's in for a young guy.....and he scored as well.

When your captain gets sent off for dissent against the refs, and one of your senior players is suspended by the club for alcohol use against team policy, what message does that send to the team. ?

Mulvey deserved to go after the result last night but there are a lot of people at CCM that need to take a good hard look especially the players.......no passion.....no fight.

Mallon apparently in contention for selection for U21s from whichever part of Ireland he is from.

So I don't want to get overtly political with this.
And sometimes it's tricky to explain.

Stephen Mallon is from Belfast, so northern Ireland.

He could play for either Ireland or the entity known as Northern Ireland.

However Stephen is a nationalist and thus choose to play for Ireland (Republic of), not UK, nothing to do with UK.

Clear as?

Thought so.

Just look at these stats. Tells you everything really.

It would be interesting to know what their salary cap banking has been since Charlesworth has been there.

I heard Shaun M on radio this morning where he said the club [mariners] is now in a sustainable financial position. That  probably indicates that the club is paying poorly with no designate players (formerly Marquees).

Also, they haven't been able to as easily raid western sydney for players since wanderers were established.

You can’t claim to be in a financially sustainable position simply by not spending money. That’s called being a tight arse.

The fact they have the hide to continually come out and make that claim shows just how little they care for what’s going on, on field

Mulvey's plan to re-create Man United's class of 92 at Mariners was quite short lived.

https://www.a-league.com.au/news/class-19-mike-mulvey-mariners-golden-era

That should be it for Mulvey in the HAL. Next stop for CCM: the Aloisi brothers? Or some random overseas coach who's never heard of HAL and CCM, and has no idea what he is getting himself into?

Let's not forget the pre-season Usain Bolt madness. One really has to question what the powers that be were thinking; it was obvious that Mulvey wasn't happy with it but at the end of the day they are a bunch of non-performers both on and off the field

Are they going to be 'financially sustainable' if no-one renews their membership and they get GCU level crowds?

They play Newcastle away next week and what happens if they get pumped again against their 'local' rivals? Who is going to show up the week after to see them play Adelaide at home?

Regardless of how financially sustainable they are their future in the A-League is at most however many years it takes into introduce relegation, plus one year.

That lets charlesworth off the hook.

The current goo fest over the decline and (possible) fall of Dynamo Woy Woy really is missing the vital role that Charlesworth has had in this process, and whilst there is plenty to criticise re their gaffer and their players, ultimately it's down to him. He's the one who..

  • Has brought in a series of coaches who have added nothing to the club, their success on the pitch and player development
  • Limited the ability of the club to be financially competitive in recruiting higher quality players
  • Taken the club's vision 'off mission' with forays to Canberra and North Sydney
  • Played silly buggers with the local supporter base & his football department in general thanks to the Usain Bolt fiasco

When you look at the roster of players they have is anyone that surprised they get shellackings like the one we saw against the Nix? That's bad enough, but what is happening with all that future proofing that was supposed to happen as part of their Centre of Excellence & their other investments (property based or otherwise)?

The saddest thing about their situation is they have some good people working for them up the coast, aside from our old mate Shaun M. One of my best friends is a CCM member and he has been going through a shite time of late...I reached out to the club via Ray Gatt and they were really proactive in how they looked after my friend. It was the kind of community action on an individual level that I would hope we have happen at our club.

However no matter these attempts at creating small scale feel good stories, bottom line they are owned by a twat who is killing sokkah on the Central Coast. They were always going to have hard yards trying to get Dynamo Woy Woy long term success and stability, but since Charlesworth has taken the reins it's been like watching a Kamikaze pilot being asked to fly a plane with engine problems...

Skyping my old man yesterday I said to him that CCM got beaten 8-2 at home. His response 'aren't they the idiots who tried to sign Usain Bolt'.....that response says it all.

I don't like fan protests, but CCM fans have much to be angry about.....

An oft asked question to people is ……..

"If you could choose from anyone in the world that you'd invite to a dinner party, who would it be?"

The answers are always common and popular celebrities, or alternatively, quite random, or even cryptic people.

People like Nelson Mandela, Mohammed Ali, Bill Clinton/Barack Obama, Tiger Woods etc... come to mind. Then there are multitudes of famous actors, musicians, artists, authors, sporting stars etc. And then there are the thought provoking unknowns. People no one has ever heard of that would literally blow your mind away.

Bugger that list.

You Smoggy, and your dad, would be the first on my invite list. What a ******* cracking evening it would be.

:)

You know what they should do is get all the brass instruments they can find, go to the ground and blow them as loudly as they can for the match.
