An oft asked question to people is ……..

"If you could choose from anyone in the world that you'd invite to a dinner party, who would it be?"

The answers are always common and popular celebrities, or alternatively, quite random, or even cryptic people.

People like Nelson Mandela, Mohammed Ali, Bill Clinton/Barack Obama, Tiger Woods etc... come to mind. Then there are multitudes of famous actors, musicians, artists, authors, sporting stars etc. And then there are the thought provoking unknowns. People no one has ever heard of that would literally blow your mind away.

Bugger that list.

You Smoggy, and your dad, would be the first on my invite list. What a ******* cracking evening it would be.

:)

He will be easy to spot if he comes over for the start of the new season. He will get to his stadium seat and he will break it, the seat bit will come off in his hand when he puts it down, it won't happen to anyone else in the entire stadium, but something like that will happen to him...nailed on...then he will go and argue with a steward for 30mins...you won't hear anything but there will be lots of animated gesturing...its what happens....

Give me your address and I will send him your way......

You're right. It is interesting. Sacked over alledgedly presiding over a toxic culture with the Matilda's to a club with an alledged toxic culture in the current squad. A match made in heaven.?

A lot of wtf's going on here.

There was talk of him taking over the men's national team before the Angry One (who shall not be named).

Alledged....

We know VERY few details.

He's a quality coach, great signing.

He's only a caretaker coach until the end of the season....I believe they are lining up Sid Fogg for next year...

Until the FFA come through with proof of this so called toxic culture, like who the **** in there right mind who take the word of Gallop without evidence.. He was sacked unfairly and it should not take away the fact he is a great coach

All the best mate at CCM!

With the benefit of hindsight I'm surprised none of us predicted this appointment

Why would he sign up for this, hasn't the poor guy been through enough drama lately?

It's a real Sophie's choice isn't it. Working for Gallop or working for Charlesworth.

some guys love their testicles hooked up to a car battery, some like to be whipped, others like to coach central coast mariners

When your name gets dragged through the mud like his did, no chance that clubs can likely take a risk on him even if half true

Are they going to be 'financially sustainable' if no-one renews their membership and they get GCU level crowds?

They play Newcastle away next week and what happens if they get pumped again against their 'local' rivals? Who is going to show up the week after to see them play Adelaide at home?

It's interesting you mention GCU because I've been thinking about it and in terms of a 'mess' - I don't see how CCM aren't heading in any different direction to GCU, probably just not on as much of a rapid trajectory. Makes you wonder what scope FFA have to issue a please explain to Charlesworth/the club like they did to big Clive. Having teams spanked 8-2 not once but twice in the space of 12 months is really not a good look for the competition...

Clive wasn't trying. The Mariners are trying, they're just awful.

That's debatable. The club are trying to be 'financially stable' but I'd say it's coming at the cost of them trying to assemble and foster a competitive squad.

Mate, he lives 5 minutes up the road he’d have bitten his hand off when the role came available.

With the shite we have had to put up with over the past 3 season's, I can hardly feel any sympathy for a club that won't spend money to be successful.

If anything, I feel sorry for their fans.

The highlight for me was after 300 posts on #EncroachmentWatch by our overlord, the referees finally decided to do something about it

That was so good on so many levels.
Not the least because the Irish snake Donovan f@#ked up the penalty, and we f@#ked up the Scum's finals push. And 3 points in the Scumdome too. Woot!

Time to celebrate...
