Sometimes I think my radar is off on the US and I’m exaggerating the risk of a civil war in that country.....but.....now that the federal government is sending in an unidentified force to pick up protesters in Oregon (against the states governments will) and are threatening to take it nationwide, my thought go to their second amendment and the justification they have to fight with their guns against a tyrannical government. November can’t come soon enough. If Trump let’s the election happen at all.

You’re not the only one. I know I’m a virtue signalling snowflake leftard wanker. But the speech Trump did the other week at Mount Rushmore was scary ****, and his fine people on both sides line.

My heritage on my mothers side is deeply routed in Ireland and especially the North / Republic border area of Leitrim and Sligo, in my eyes the British / Irish civil war only ended with the Good Friday agreement in 1997. I see the USA as being at a late 60's point in that type of situation (pre bloody Sunday).

And all those alt-right libertarian red pill types are all in favour of unidentified goverment paramilitary dudes just plucking people at random off the streets because they look like they might be lefties no doubt.

But you know. I mean a you can't wear a sombrero, and some people get shouted at on social media, so, it's probably a price worth paying (cries a little just so you can see I am sensitive).

Just on the US election, when are the Dems going to say what they are going to do... it seems they are running on an anti Trump vote only ... heard nothing of what they plan or scant details in an agreement with Sanders over some polices but not much detail...

My experience when you solely go after the other guy is no good ... it often back fires...

Still plenty of time left and Trump is bad but me thinks the Dems need to also say how they will fix things...

I think it’s enough to run on reinstating all the things that Trump broke, regulations on emissions, healthcare, a coherent national virus response, reinstating a pandemic team, improving relationships with allies......it’s all there out in the open. How can they have an innovative agenda when there is so much to repair for the last four years of chaos?

imo now would be the best time to have an innovative agenda. Taking up Medicare for All, Green New Deal and looking into UBI would be helpful not solely for economic benefit but also to put US society in a condition where voters don't want to give another Trump or similar candidate a go

However, I think they'll just keep using the available money for tax cuts and foreign wars - "Well we got rid of that nasty man and his vulgar language. Let's cross our fingers and hope it doesn't happen again".

Whilst I agree that an innovative agenda would be great, I am highly sceptical that the American public could make the leap right now.

Hard to get a clear agenda out given the chaos of COVID and Trump

Biden has been pretty clear what he wants to do but there is little media time space for anything other than COVID and Trumps madness

Given that the Black Lives Matter organisation is Marxist to the core - check their website to see this - it is not surprising that Israel Folau refuses to kneel. He is quite right to refuse.
