still cant believe americans are trying to stockpile weapons because of the Coronavirus, what do they think they are going to do shoot the virus?

It's probably to protect themselves from all the Americans with guns who'll go on a rampage if things get really bad over there.

Uhuh.

If hydroxychloroquine becomes an accepted treatment, several pharmaceutical companies stand to profit, including shareholders and senior executives with connections to the president. Mr. Trump himself has a small personal financial interest in Sanofi, the French drugmaker that makes Plaquenil, the brand-name version of hydroxychloroquine.

Then there's this guy:

Republican fundraiser looks to cash in on coronavirus

Worked as a fundraiser for Republicans, claiming his business raised $318 million for members of congress. Suddenly stopped his business and started a medical distribution business called Blue Flame Medical (interesting name for a Republican) with a business partner who was a Republican consultant and strategist. In the interview above he claims they're about to fill orders for 100 million masks and when asked how he gets his hands on them when nobody else can he said “I have relationships with a lot of people.”. His business partner was asked the same question and said “It’s just relationship-based,” he said. “I can’t say anything else.”

Lots of people starting to wonder whether Trump and Kushner are dipping into the national stockpile.

Very lengthy, but incredibly detailed analysis of Trump's failures and culpabilities in this crisis. Worth the time to read.

Big win for Dems over in Wisconsin yesterday. SCOTUS (led by Brett Kavanaugh :bad: and who were conveniently meeting remotely because "safety") reversed the decision of the federal court to extend the deadline for mail ballots by six days past Election Day to ensure that more people could vote, and vote safely.

It was an obvious attempt at voter suppression and forced thousands out to vote and potentially contract COVID-19.

It has backfired majorly with Biden winning 63% of the vote and the conservative judge Jill Karosky upset Trump's incumbent Dan Kelly. It weakens the majority on the court from 5-2 to 4-3.

The interesting thing is, with their ruling SCOTUS have unintentionally caused a precedent that could affect other state's voting procedures. In their judgement, they stated that only votes that had been "postmarked" before the election day should be counted. In about a dozen other states across the county, their rules are it has to be received by election day. It may not seem like a big differentiation but it could mean thousands more votes could be counted than otherwise would be.

Expanded postal voting will most likely benefit the Democrats which is why this case was super interesting.

Wisconsin has been pretty messed up by the Republicans. In the 2018 midterms Democratic congressional candidates got 53.18% of the votes to 45.61% for Republican candidates, yet because the state is so gerrymandered the Republicans won 5 of the 8 seats available.

They know that the majority of Democrat voters are in urban areas so they used the virus as an excuse to close poling places in the cities (which makes zero sense as it jams more people into less polling places, instead of spreading them out). Milwaukee has 600,000 people and usually has 180 polling places, this election there were 5. Green Bay has 180,000 people and went from the normal 31 polling places to 2.

In the statewide votes that can't be gerrymandered Democrats won everything, Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of State, etc, which can't be good news for Trump. He really needs to win states like Wisconsin and Michigan in November and between Republican shithousery in the Wisconsin election and the way he's handling the virus in Michigan by fighting with the governor he's not doing well.

It’s interesting, there is a clear majority of people in the US that support the Dems right now. The lengths that the Republicans will go to in the next few months to try to secure the election will be diabolical me thinks. Especially if their efforts in Wisconsin are anything to go by.
