It's not a bad suggestion in reality. Unless we go on an amazing winning streak ( which I can't see happening when our marquee striker can't score ) you can basically write the season off. He would have a fair idea of who he is keeping out of the juniors.....so play them now...give them experience.

Assuming that the youth we have is good enough at the top level and the cancer that seems to be at this club doesnt go all the way through everything...otherwise you would be sending the kids out to get flogged every week. Argument that they cant do any worse than the current shower of shyte of course.

The season is over. Even if by some miracle we scrapped in to 6th we would be turned over first finals game. In just a 10 team comp and in a capped system we seem to have found a way to be absolutely totally uncompetitive and miles behind the likes of Victory, we are closer to CCM which is embarrassing as they are not even what i consider a proper football club...

O and we havs a crazy ******* German coach who is looking increasingly confused and unsure about what the **** to do. The club will trust him for the next recruitment round / into next season but it scares the **** out of me...i just dont think he has a ******* clue about this comp...

Unpopular view but I just don’t know if you can play Roly, Riera & ABJ together (at the moment). All are too static. When we made our subs we finally had a bit of movement between & behind the lines which opened up the field & gave them both a bit of space.

Not a fan of MB, sat on his hands again. Deserves more time but questions need to be asked eventually. Picks the same 11 every week, rotates a couple on/off the bench & that’s it.

I like Babbel, I’d be fine with him continuing as our manager.....but he needs to show us something. We know his squad is limited but we still can’t see any semblance of a plan, a style/ pattern of play, some proactive changes/adjustments

At the moment it’s hard to see what they do all week. We are all over the shop.

Club needs to take responsibility just like not to long ago when they held crisis meetings on how we were loosing major sponsors due to crowd behaviour. The results over the last few seasons and heavy handed security/police measures time after time both are results in having more disgruntled fans who have stopped showing up to matches and many have stopped even watching us play.

Club/suits needs to be held liable as relying on a nice new shiny stadium to bring back the fans and with the wave of a magical wand will not fix a problem that seems to be getting worse and worse. Members/fans are allowed to voice their opinion whether club likes it or not. It's time those of us still left to keep the pressure up and show them that wsw is a big club with many passionate supporters but we are not dumb westies and we know when we are being taken for a ride.

Members/fans spend hard earned money in memberships/merchandise and more to support the wsw and always will but in the world of football results matter and for us westies playing with pride and your heart on your sleeve with passion is what we want from our team.

End of the day its time for the club to pull their finger out of their asshole and be bold and make some desperate changes if not what was once the mighty wsw will be no longer able to return to its once was fortress.

Maybe the introduction of south west sydney will be a hidden gem for the club as we were to get ESFC back into gear after letting their foot of the pedal for way to long.

Happy new 2019!

Well said!! It terms of player recruitment and the general treatment of fans this last 3 seasons, it is like the board has put the club in a holding pattern for the supposedly "glorious" return to Parramatta. The actions of the club both on and off the field have shown absolute disregard for the fans who have attended and have stuck by the team during this period.

I'm flabbergasted that he's not required / encouraged to wear WSW attire, whilst on the sidelines in our games.

If it's good enough for Klopp & Guardiola it's good enough for MB

Its Jack Black the sponsors gear he is wearing and lets be honest if we need him to wear that to keep sponsors on board the good luck to him, the way we are playing it is hardly on field performances which are going to attract sponsors is it?

This has probably been argued about at length (& most might not agree), but I never understood the decision to move to spotless, took away the atmosphere (& our identity) which no doubt is a major driving factor for the players & our major strength. Penny Park with occasional games at Campbelltown etc would of been the way I would of went.

the problem with penrith and campbelltown is it takes too long for some people to get to matches, for me campbelltown would take longer than it would to go to a sydney fc match and getting home just wouldnt happen, that said olympic park is just terrible

Fairly despondent last night. Its already been said but I couldn't believe that no subs were made till late. You could see little impact was being made but no reaction.... I'm tired of watching Riera coast out front, tired of the predictable from the keeper,  tired of  to holding onto possession till its too late .......

Moan over........... I hope   I will feel better

I kinda hate myself for asking...I really do.

Because I've always hated the revolving door approach to our coaches (once Popa's successes declined) and more specifically, I've hated that approach towards players at our club (unfathomable with regard to a dozen or so players we showed the door, or didn't value highly enough to retain, but who are still playing successfully across the A League :()

I have never joined a Popa out! Gombau out! call. I don't see much evidence of, and wouldn't join a Babble out team.....just yet. I don't like that sort of approach, and I don't think it helps.

But I'm wondering how you reconcile the first part of your post, with the second.

As I said, I don't like asking...but I'm curious. Is there nothing a good coach can do with a mediocre team...a team which looks totally dispirited from the start of every game...and which looks desperate for the final whistle (understandably so) by the end?

In all honesty we were never gonna dominate possession not with the team we have. We did ok for the first 35 mins defensively restricting them to shots outside the box, transition was ok especially on he left side. But then we fell asleep seriously City had nothing until we shut off for those 2 goals which are park Football mistakes not good enough.

Babbel Should have taken Elrich off that 2nd half was crap from him  with his experience expect a lot more from him. It started with one mistake and a few members were letting him know about it and instead of concentrating on the game he decides to mouth off at the crowd and make a chain of mistakes thereafter. City just targeted him after that and they got lot of joy on the right side.

Also again opposition goes down to 10 men and yet its more likely the opposition will score than us. It took until we had Majok and Fitzy on the field to really test Galekovic that is not good enough.

On a positive note Majok did ok when he came on. Which is surprising considering he had the touch of a 3-legged donkey wearing clogs in his last outing. Maybe it was purely nerves.

Give the lad a start against the Mexicans

I agree - but chose the laughing emoji rather than the "Like" to indicate that your comparison conjured up an hilarious image!  :good:

Our first couple of seasons were the benchmark for the club in what was expected from the playing group. They put in,they never gave up. Whether that was the attitude of the players or motivation of the coach can be debated ad nauseum.

Season 3 was a write off but people forgive/forgave the clube due to ACL win...fair enough.

When Popa gutted the Adelaide Gf losing side we have not recovered. The replacements were mediocre as were the results.....6th.

Nothing has changed result wise since.I've always believed and maintained it is the players who are mainly responsible for what happens on the field. The coach is the guide. Popa was lucky in his last season just to make the 6 with his squad. Gumby lost the players apparently and  failed....7th......... and Babbel is not looking too flash at the moment. I like Babbel as a coach but the results should be starting to show. The fans want to see season one and two attitudes...They aren't Hence the fan frustration.

Best change that can be made is the replacement of Tsatsimas to be honest
