GF to be played before the Jets game on Friday night. Kick Off probably about 4.30pm

Awful game, with only one team attempting to play football. The bloke coaching them must be a fan of Sam Alladyce. They sat very deep & when they won possession, pumped it long at every opportunity. We should have put them to the sword much earlier than we did

Grozos has come through his 25/30 min cameo unscathed & feels good. The lad has bulked up a bit whilst recovering from his knee injury & is raring to go

Plus training in persistent fouling that a better ref would have given the free kicks to us.

One of our teams know how to get the job done. And how to hold a lead.

Kosta took a yellow card for time wasting at a corner. It was fair enough after the elbowing Smurf took forever to be substituted and a yellow for time wasting prior to that after being warned by the ref during his slow walk off

Spotless is being used for the whatever the Sydney 7's is so we are at ANZ on Friday night.

The A-league game normally has the pitch from 7.00pm.

Allowing for presentation and extra time means from the start of the Game, half time, extra time and penalties would mean 160 minutes. The game would have to start at abiut 4.20pm unless the A-league game could be pushed back by 20 minutes.

And that's assuming the game is at ANZ. 3 out the last 4 have been at Gosford.

So 420 on a weekday, with schools back at a **** of a place to get too. Oh and you’ve got 5 days worth of work to do in 4. 👌🙄

4 day week already mate.

My boy doesn't start till next week so I have to work extra tomorrow,  Wednesday and Thursday. Have to leave work at about 3:15pm to make it.

Maybe ANZ staff will let us sit closer to field instead of sitting in the upper tier.

In the FFA media release about the grandfinal, the Smurfs NYL got as many mentioned if not more than us. I think they wanted them to win through.

To be fair if we could get lighting to strike after 87mins of a league games we would still be in with a chance of the finals

Sydney FC's Foxtel Y-League side finished runners up in Conference B after narrowly going down 2-1 to Western Sydney Wanderers at Marconi Stadium on Sunday night.

The match kick off was pushed back from it’s original timeslot of 4:30pm to a 6:00pm due to extreme hot weather and Mother Nature was to play another key part in the fixture when a thunder storm rolled through late in the match.

Needing only a draw to secure the Premiership and a ticket to the Grand Final, the Sky Blues took an early lead when Ben Koop was on the end of a precise cross from Joey Tilio to flick the ball around the keeper for 1-0.

Koop should have doubled the advantage soon after however his shot from close range was palmed onto the crossbar and bounced to safety.

The rest of the half was an even contest until one minute before the break when the Wanderers restored parity through Mohamed Adam who side footed his shot into the back of the net and the teams headed to the sheds at 1-1.

The second half was another arm wrestle as both sides battled for the ascendency in the match. With the Wanderers needing to win they threw players forward forcing the Young Sky Blues to defend deep in their own half.

In the 82nd minute Sydney FC failed to clear a corner kick and John Roberts pounced on the loose ball in the box to head home for a 2-1 lead.

It was then just five minutes later that Mother Nature intervened and a huge storm rolled in with lightning strikes ringing around the ground.

The officials had no alternative than to suspend the game in the 87th minute and call the players off the field.

Despite waiting for over one hour for the storm to clear the match could not resume and the 2-1 score line was declared as the official result by the FFA.

With an estimated five minutes of added time to be played it would of been an interesting final eight minutes however it was not to be.

The squad will now enjoy a short break before they resume preparation for the upcoming Football NSW National Premier League Men’s Division 1 season which kicks off on the 10th March against Hakoah FC at Hensley Athletic Field.

I wonder what happened in the tunnel when the ref sent both teams to the sheds at the 87 minute.

Heard the ref whistle pretty loudly.

The Smurfs must have known it was possible for the game to be called.

I was sitting across and behind the Smurf analyst and a few of their other players. They were pissed off with the crosses with going over the top.

I think they shouldn't be too cocky. Their NPL team should have relegated because they finished last by a fair way and the only thing that kept them afloat was their u18s and u20s
