Brisbane Roar vs Western Sydney Wanderers 25/01/2019 6:50PM

On the first goal, with all the talk of the VAR everyone forgets the guidance to provide the benefit of doubt to the attacking team. The fact that people are arguing over the accuracy of the line etc means there’s enough doubt.

The issue with “clear and obvious error” is that it’s like umpires call in cricket or refs call in NRL, basically too close to call so we’ll stick with the original call. Had the linesman put his flag up after the ball went in the VAR would have upheld the decision and it would have been offside. The problem is they’re told to keep the flag down if it’s close so he may have thought it was offside but the refs call goes against him.

There was nothing in it definitely a lot more marginal that the one against us (vs Adl).if that stood there was no way they clould disallow this.

Yeboah has been good but need to watch it because they will keep fouling him.

Ok well this is going to take a mighty effort because Roar have absolutely nothing but I am trying to work out which inventive way we will find to lose this game and I cannot see any reason.  Not to worry I am sure they will find a way.

Someone getting a red card, Vedran going on another adventure, Vedran going on an adventure AND getting a red card.

Yea but Roar are that bad even if that happens I do not think they will win.  Maybe an all in brawl and match abandoned Assoc style or something.

No. Offside is supposed to be like the goal line. It's either off or on. No grey area.

Clear and obvious errors come into play with say penalty area challenge. If the ref gives a pen or doesn't then it has to be clear or obvious to overturn it.

The bundesliga has struggled with the offside and has 3d imaging now to ensure its right.  1mm?. Linesman can't tell. Keep flag down.  But VAR should over rule and deem offside.
