Another story on Scumbo

Scott Morrison's local soccer club boasted about funding weeks before grants announced http://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-01-20/scott-morrison-sports-grants-lilli-pilli/11881578

Say what you like about Scomo but at least he looks after his mates.

I love the last line Morrison claims all projects where eligible. I honestly don’t doubt they where but if it is a competitive process the majority of submissions would have been eligible (that’s just the ticket to enter really, what is in doubt is where the best and most worthy entries selected by a transparent process, which they weren’t.

Having worked in government where you have to have a transparent process to purchase anything, it’s amazing that they can hand out such large sums with no transparency

^^^And how they are responding to the questions about process, legitimacy, transparency is the usual ScumMo.

Dont answer.

From Michaelia Cash this morning, when the issue was raised...

"All the projects have brought great benefit to their communities."

Yes, of course they have! But that wasn't what you were asked.

Appalling leadership is stated by a former firefighting professional

I tried to warn Scott Morrison about the bushfire disaster. Adapting to climate change isn’t enough https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2020/jan/20/i-tried-to-warn-scott-morrison-about-the-bushfire-disaster-adapting-to-climate-change-isnt-enough?CMP=Share_AndroidApp_Copy_to_clipboard

He's the one I saw interviewed a few weeks back - Greg Mullins.

Speaks with a depth of insightful and understanding, and it's appalling that he and others like him have been ignored.

Thanks for posting!

This story just gets worse. The richest clubs in Australia were given handouts when the coalition has cut both the education and health budgets massively over the last 10 years.

Upmarket tennis and golf clubs among recipients of major sports grants https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2020/jan/21/upmarket-tennis-and-golf-clubs-among-recipients-of-major-sports-grants?CMP=Share_AndroidApp_Copy_to_clipboard

^^^ Unbelievable!

We so need a Federal ICAC!!

Barry Unsworth resigned over a bottle of wine, whilst corruption at this appalling level is brushed away by this disgraceful PM and his govt.

Born to rule elites handing out our money to their born to rule mates.

HHHHHHHmmmmmmm actually got permission to post this from a client.

For anyone that does not know I am an accountant with a practice on the Central Coast.

One of my clients is a former, NSW State and latter Federal ALP back bench'er.

I asked what they through about the election result and why.

For what its worth this was the reply..... The answer was unexpected and I paraphrase what was said...

The collective base within the ALP who supported Rudd and Shorten are different... this person believed the Rudd team was light years ahead of the Shorten team.

The Rudd team understood, you needed to win the economic debate or at least draw it to have any chance of winning.

Essentially this person believed the ALP entered the last election totally unprepared on some issues, and ego on some polices kept some polices that should have been dropped.

This person believed that Labour kept shouting itself in the foot.

I post this because, at the end of the day we have maybe 20 marginal seats that decide government and to implement CC policies requires winning those marginal seats...

As an aside from recent media reports the Libs abused nay broke the law over sports grants and directed the funds to marginal seats... that is where the battle lines are...

Yep while we are on it (and we aren’t really) the GetUp bellends piss me off (and I’m a lefty) spent a whole bunch of time and effort in getting Zali into Abbots seat replacing a Lib with somebody who will back the Libs what an absolute waste of time and effort (as was then trying and failing to move Dutton) instead of pissing about there they could have focussed on marginals like Lindsay and maybe impacted the government

Getup would be better off ******* off at the next election entirely and simply telling their members to assist local ALP/Greens members in their area.

I agree we do.

O'Farrell ( ) resigned but I would happily put a laaaaaaaarge sum of money on there being another more significant reason for that resignation. However, yes, he did. I've said this before, but there was a time when that was standard. This generation of pollies just don't, and worse, their parties back them to the hilt.

If you ever get a chance "Wild Men of Sydney" is a good read.

NSW politics in the 19th century... Blackmail, duels in the street shitting in plant pots at Macquarie, street, massive corruption. all pretty tame these days in comparison.
