One of the reasons I don't or rarely watch TV or consume too much media anymore......most of it is designed to encourage conflict between people......reality tv especially. Trump's aim is to intimidate those who don't agree with him. The incendiary crap he deals out is designed to activate the loonies who subsequently pose a very real threat to anyone brave enough to speak out in dissent. So his repulsive view becomes the loudest because those who care are silenced, and the sheeple become indoctrinated. Fascism 101. Rant over. Cynth, sonar, Midfielder and 1 other 4 Link to comment

We expect everyone to who comes to our countries to speak English, and yet when we travel overseas we expect people to speak English everywhere we go. One thing that does make me angry though is when shops and restaurants in Australia only use foreign language writing without accompanying English translations. In my experience this predominantly occurs with Chinese. sonar, Neverbloom and wendybr 3 Link to comment

It would be the same if I was in a non english speaking country and we met up and started to chat, we would naturally speak english. If I wanted to interact with the locals then I would try to use their language. It's far more easier these days with the myriad of translating/translation apps going around.
