Did a Bridge this season and picked up three injuries. Season gone.

Dislocated his shoulder mid way thru 1st half in Darwin, then 2 hammy injuries, the latest being a complete tear.

Kosta will be up & about early doors next season

Thoughts on Ross McCormack after he got released by Villa?

The first and probably only player to win promotion to the Premier League and the A-League wooden spoon in the same season.

Lets hope he doesn't have more bridge seasons.

I seen him play in the NPL a few years back and he was outstanding.

Kosta is 18, not 19 until mid August.

Once his body adjusts to the rigours of the pro game, he'll show why he is widely considered to be the best product to ever come through our academy

Btw, his younger bro Peter (u16 Joeys in 2018) made his NPL2 debut as a sub v's CCM last night

Easy tiger, if you get worked up about every player that's NOT coming, the old blood pressures gonna go through the roof

Terry Antonis may be returning to Wanderers. Apparently he isn't happy at Victory after Muscats departure and wants to be back home with his immediate family. His cousin or nephew plays for our NPL team I think.

SFC sniffing as well is not encouraging.

Who would we rather,  Brattan or Antonis?

I'd rather Antonis maybe even both. I can't see him going back to them after his recent experiences with them. Plus surely they are close to using all their cap space.

Similar output in a defensive sense, Antonis is better going forward. Antonia is a longer term prospect and hopefully is a little turned off the idea of venturing to europe again. Break the cheque book out for him please.

SFC will surely struggle to afford him under the cap if they truely have Barbs in there. Though we’ve seen in the past that the salary cap is more like a guideline than an actual rule for Sydney.

Not getting my hopes up. He may well be very happy at victory and just has his agent sowing the seeds in search of an extension and pay rise

Antonis by a mile

but given his contract isn’t up until next year why would Victory let him go?

Macarthur can't sign anyone till Jan 2020 so not sure how they're even in the mix

He's got a year left on his deal and if Victory don't offer him a new one, he's free to talk to other clubs from Jan 2020. They'd potentially be able to offer him the best deal re: wages considering he'd be an early, key signing.

There was a rumour of Brattan going to Victory, this could be reason why. Antonis would be a brilliant signing

If you look at the stats, Antonis & Brattan are very very similar players when played in central midfield, but Brattan was a clearly superior player this season with the caveat that Antonis was often deployed as a winger or wing-midfielder due to Muscat's predominant 442 Diamond with Antonis being the last choice of the midfield & attack to be slotted in behind Valeri at DM, Troisi at AM, Honda in whatever wing position he wanted with Kosta & Toivenen playing up front.

Now Antonis is younger at 25, but Brattan has only just turned 29 so he should still have 3 or 4 years ahead of him.

They both scored 4 goals, Brattan got 4 assists Antonis 5. Antonis was abysmal at crossing though while Brattan was decent. Defensively they had similar levels of tackles & success rate, Brattan did a bit more in terms of interceptions.

The main area of superiority for Brattan was passing, he had better accuracy in total and in the opponents half, but this would have been helped by the awful tactics from Joyce running City.

Last point is Brattan was blown up for a lot more fouls. But similar YC counts so not as big a deal.

End of the day you would be happy with either of them in any A-League starting lineup unless you only play 2 high quality foreign midfielders. If he was the box-to-box midfielder with our foreign DM and a marquee attacking mid there would be nothing wrong with either Brattan or Antonis.

Get both, move Keanu to the bench then have a midfield trio of Brattan and Schwegler in DM and Antonis in CM or AM.

Im pretty sure Antonis played as a right back several times as well to fill in spots.

He played all over the park. He won’t have enjoyed that.

Wanderers offers opportunity to any player who wants it since basically no position except RW is locked down.

I'd go Brats. It's splitting hairs, but he's got more mongrel. Antonis has left us once before.

We whinge and whine about not having quality local players and here we have 2 available quality local players. Get spira as well and our local quality squad should be just about complete. Simply add another 2/3 top notch imports and we should be in for a good season. Hopefully, I'm not dreaming of too much as I don't think I can take another failure of a season. I think we've all suffered enough.

All we need now is a few positive press releases and at least the off season will not only be a good one but also give us some hope for what lies ahead.
