The question is, will Grozos stay on the field long enough for us to see what he's actually capable of?

Agree with this, I have similar feelings with Zeigler. Haven’t seen enough of either to call them quality just yet.

That bench isn't good enough, nor will it strike fear into opposition teams. Need someone that can change a game on the bench and unfortunately having just kids is too much pressure on them. Also shows a lack of depth for Starting XI spots.

I love the kids, don't get me wrong, but we need a bit more on the bench.

The lack of depth is a matter of perception.

The best XI on paper will not be the starting XI. MB will give the young guys regular game time, there will always be senior players on the bench.  Once the new CF arrives both Duke and Yeboah will be kept on their toes, with Mo Adam pushing from behind as well.

Also, there is bound to be squad movement in January. I doubt that Tass will return from the U23 tournament, and it is yet to be seen how much longer Janjetovic/Niciz will be at the club. Once Ziegler's passport is sorted there will be the opportunity to throw in another import for the last few months of the season.

Opposed training sessions would be fun to watch. Enough quality there for 2 teams.

                                   Lopar

              McGowan - Ziegler - Jurman

Kamau                                                 Georgevski

                       Baccus - Schwegler

                               Majewski

                           Duke - Yeboah

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

                           Adam - ?????

                                Grozos

                      O'Doherty - Sullivan

Wilmering                                         Russell

                    Cordier - Tass - Elrich

                                 Vedran

Bring on the Mariners in October!! Let's get this show on the road.

Once we get the sexual striker we will be fine for depth

we don’t have any acl, is one game a week over a short season

14 players plus some kids is more than enough

A bunch of Nick Fitzgerald’s is a waste of cap space.

we will have decent cover on the bench it’s all cool

Just be patient, & let the staff get them over their niggles or injuries.

If they were considered to be our weakest links, (which they most certainly are not) we'd still be looking mighty fine.

Duke will also be back in full work soon enough, so just chillax & enjoy the ride.

Some free agents still available with decent scoring records, anyone under 1/3 games will be overpriced for us.

The window for signing players who haven't had any structured training for a few months is closed. Ono arriving early October and using the first third of the season to come up to speed, that kind of scenario is prohibitive if wsw want to be a title contender.

Also, the three names you mentioned won't excite the facebook family. The club is after someone who gets the juices of the supporter base, football fans in general and the media going. Obscure guys won't cut it.

Let's see what happens next week.

So what page do we need to get to for the striker to be announced?

140 seems to be the consensus, although we were late on the 6th signing (around 7 pages)

Be worth having him just for his goal celebrations!

Average still puts us at 21 pages per signing

Well, the way this thread has gone this past week, we should have a striker announcement by Tuesday. Edinburgh will see to that with his inspiring numbered posts.

Obafemi Martins would be certainly big enough. Although its taking so long that it seems that maybe we are getting a player who is contracted.

Is Ziegler doing full training yet?

Duke said that him and Ziegler are about the same stage. Duke said he thinks he will be off the bench against City and they are keeping Ziegler fit until Rd 1.

Also 4 W-League signings I was told. Lynn Williams one of them.

Until I looked at the lid, I thought they might have signed Mitch Nichols

Actually he’d be a brilliant signing right now. His sole role would be to turn up to training wearing a donkey suit. Helps with moral.

Babbel can also use him as an example of what talent players can turn into with too many nose beers. There’s lots of applications for him

Make that 14/15 signings, LW being one of a number of visa signings already completed :ninja:
