The Jets budget was cut by Martin Lee due to trump tariffs. This would affect designated players only unless McKinna has been instructed to use the salary cap floor.

If the club gets sold does it have to stay in Newcastle or can the owners take it wherever they like a.k.a NFL?

I'm pretty sure the license is for the Newcastle area, every time someone has tried to buy a license in the past and move the club they've been knocked back.

If someone wants an a-league license in another area I imagine it'd be easier to just go to the A-League club ownership group and tell them, and get prepared to come in as an expansion club. Less bother & hassle that way.

Having said that, I lived in the Newwie area for a few years and went to some of their games.  It is a great football region and they should always be an integral part of any national league.
