Prydzopolis
Was really happy by the performance by the boys. Definitely a different vibe & determination coming out of the camp. I am not convinced that you can look too far ahead. We are still 6 weeks away from the start of the season, completing a proper preseason is critical for our season, so is the recruitment of a number 9 & the opposition must be taken into account. Yes we are playing one of the best in NSW NPL but we must remember that the heavy workload these guys have faced together with a rotated team looking ahead to NPL grand final means that we can’t read too much into the opposition & how they really tested us. By all means look at the body language, cohesion of the players, sharp touches, the way we kept possession & the way we held our shape allowing us to play our football. All very positive signs so early in preseason but we haven’t won anything & we don’t want to peak too early. We definitely played better than City did in the game versus Marconi but so early in preseason it means very little. If we can build on our performance tonight (very hard to exceed it) & deal with a city team that will give our defense many more challenges than SU then we should be in for a good game & hopefully a spot in the semi final. wendybr, tyson, Wobblies and 9 others 12 Link to comment

That's what I wondered about Heartle$$ v Marconi. From what I saw, the team last night stuck to a plan to frustrate SU58 by keeping the ball away from them. The team hunted in packs of 3 without the ball. Schwegler and Baccus were dominant in the midfield with both giving pinpoint passes. Georgievski has still got a turn of speed. The CBS were dominant in the air. Lopar was dominant in his box AND barking instructions as to the gaps in the opposition to exploit. Majewski teamed up brilliantly with Yeboah and Mo Adam, who were tearing up the tired SU defense. The only disappointing aspects was that Adam didn't score and the second half performance by Kurt Ams. Imagine, Duke to return as well as Ziegler. Grozos to return as well. Perhaps a quality striker after the European window shuts either as a signing or season long loan. The Heartle$$ mob will be be doing hours of video analysis on the last 2 FFA Cup games. wendybr
FWIW, I was disappointed but not angry when Fox switched to the Roar vs Mariners game. Whilst WSW supporters (and those involved with SU no doubt) were scrutinizing every deal of the performance, the other game had developed into an impressive deadlocked game, involving two teams whose supporters have experienced as much recent joy as we have. Not to have been able to watch their teams battling it out must have frustrating. Plus for the neutral, our game was finished, result-wise, and the other was becoming an epic battle. In terms of drama and promoting wider interest in the Cup, and in Aust football in general, it was an understandable decision. My 2 cents worth. echidna and MartinTyler 2 Link to comment

There clearly wasn’t a separate online stream for the main TV game, so when they switched that broadcast it also stuffed around those of us on the app (me) and Kayo (others). I do understand why they switched things around on the TV stream, but next time I hope they do something to keep the online stream going so that we aren’t in a world where the rednecks and sea bogans are being shown on two streams at once. I thought he was terrible in the second half. You could see SU decided at half time to throw all tactics out the window and they just started kicking the **** out of us and committing little fouls to break the rhythm. We got nothing for a period of about 10-15 mins and they were awarded a foul every time a WSW player went near them. Prydzopolis, SteveB, LeeMarvin and 3 others 6 Link to comment
teddies
Trying to show snippets of 4 games was always going to be a nightmare. I get what they wanted to, but they could have done it differently. They could have just switched to the other game once a goal was scored there. Switch to the other game, keep the WSW in the bottom corner of the screen, show the build up, goal and replay, then go back to WSW game. Don't park the broadcast for 15mins and anticipate the goal and miss out on two goals in the main game. In saying that, I watched this on Kayo... Kayo that I'm not paying for. Link to comment

They cut the Wanderers v SU game and made a second stream. The did it because they didn’t want a federation team being murdered on national television. It would have hilariously easy to swap the streams to CCM appeared on 505 when it was obvious the scores were going to blow out and CCMvBR was heating up. I appreciate you are trying to give people the benefit of the doubt but this was a healthy mix of stupidity, laziness and self interest. Edinburgh, wendybr, Horus and 4 others 7 Link to comment

But the people who wanted to watch the Roar v CCM game were either already watching it on a stream or had decided they weren't able to watch it at all. How would they know to turn on the SU v WSW game with 15 minutes to go to see their team? What proportion of viewers were disappointed SU or WSW fans compared to the proportion of CCM or Roar fans who were watching our game instead of theirs and were suddenly happy to see their team? Not to mention all the people who paid for a service like Kayo because of the promise to show all FFA Cup games live and then have absolutely no way to watch one of the games. matty
Yeah, having the TV switch over, I understand. If it's going to create two identical streams and mean no one can watch another game, then don't do it, it's dumb. wendybr, Prydzopolis and Paul01 3 Link to comment

Unlimited
When the stream switched to the CCM game, it was just in time to see two goals there as well - the scramble to make it 2-1 to the CCM and then the penalty about ten seconds later to make it 2-2 That said, would’ve been nice to have a choice to watch that game Link to comment
mack
Most people who wanted to watch CCM/BRI would have already been doing so, changing games was stupid. The dumbest thing, I went last night to watch the full match on the fox website. First half is a pure feed of the game, none of the cuts to other goals, the commentary went away during those crosses. Second half. It's the fox sports feed. And it cuts away to the other game. Prydzopolis, DinoPresinger, Horus and 1 other 4 Link to comment
