I think this deserves its own thread.

The Western Sydney Wanderers FC Centre of Football officially opened today. The club have put a nice time lapse video of the Stage 1 construction here:

I’ve visited the place it is blew me away how this facility puts the club on rock solid foundations moving ahead. Top effort to all those involved in getting the facility up and built.

The club staff have already moved into stage 1. There are a few fields completed, along with the offices/HQ and gym etc.

there are also additional fields and buildings under construction to be complete I believe next year. This will include a field with grandstand for the w-league team games.

I’m amazed by how far the club has come in 7 years.

Is it open to public (tours, school competitions, Summer amateur comp?) or treated like a normal office (do I need a fake office Id to sneak in?)

Still, agree with the sentiment of what you said. If journos want to compare us to a big overseas club, they shouldn't be so lazy and at least find an apt comparison.  I am sure you guys can think of some.

And today via their Smurf writers at FTBL, the Smurfs  announce a centre of excellence to be built by 2021 somewhere in Sydney. 

Wonder where they got that idea.

Just paid a visit. The merch shop is cool and packed with some cool unique things. Who needs a WSW keeper jersey?

and the trophy cabinet is cool. Premiers plate, ACL trophy, plus the AFC 2014 club of the year trophy!

BTW...those of you who were at the season launch on Friday will remember what Lederer said re the club precinct/HQ. The big news that went under the radar was the statement from him about a proper club house there at some time in the future. One thing about our corporate overlords, they have big plans for our base.
