Home games get me excited, coz I get to catch up, eat pizza & drink ales with plenty of homies.

Trips to Kogarah don't do it for me, sorry. Even Allianz lost it's appeal towards the end, but I kept attending.

ICYMI, I've attended WSW NPL trials games v's Sutho at Seymour Shaw (Miranda) on Saturday & v's Apia at WSW COE on Wednesday, since the Derby was called off. I got drenched on both occasions, but the spirit & desire on display, made it worth the effort.

Next NPL trial v's SpiritFC is at Christie Park on Sunday evening, I'll see you there.

Fair play :clapping:

From what i saw I wouldn't say lazy just adjusting to the new team style and where he should be i guess but definitely didn't come across lazy to me

Maybe a little. The laziness I was referring to was the chasing back. He made a few half efforts to chase an attacker but seemed like he decided to cut a passing lane because it would be easier

Ernesto Valverde ... no longer of Barcelona wants to coach in the A League.

Would he cut it in Western Sydney?

https://theworldgame.sbs.com.au/sacked-barcelona-coach-valverde-wants-a-league-gig

Former Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde is hoping his next coaching job will be in the A-League rather than Premier League.

Barely a month since he was sacked by the European powerhouse, Valverde is contemplating his next move and Australia is high on the list.

"People ask me sometimes 'How about the Premier League?' and I say 'Well actually I'd like to go to Australia'," the 56-year-old Valverde said at the Bilbao International Football Summit on Thursday.

"A career in football does not last forever and sometimes you think you have to take the opportunity to live in strange places."

Valverde, who won two La Liga titles with Barca, is enjoying a rare break in a career which has lasted 18 years and taken him to some of Spain's top clubs such as Valencia and Athletic Bilbao as well as two stints at Greek giants Olympiacos.

Making his first media appearance since being sacked by the Catalans in January and replaced by Quique Setien, Valverde expressed his admiration for former player Andres Iniesta's decision to move to Japanese side Vissel Kobe when he left Barca in 2018.

"I applauded Andres when he told me he's going to Japan. I thought 'Wow, he gets to understand a different culture and different people', and I am also very interested in Japan," added Valverde, who outside of football is a keen photographer.

"You can take great photos in Japan. There are many places I'd like to go. We'll see what I end up doing, I haven't been out of work for very long so I don't have to decide anything yet, I haven't got a very clear idea at the moment.

"It's possible I'd go somewhere abroad. The truth is I like to do strange things so I wouldn't rule it out."

One A-League club currently without a coach is Western Sydney Wanderers, who recently sacked German mentor Markus Babbel.

Jean-Paul de Marigny was appointed in a caretaker capacity last month and will lead the team against Newcastle on Saturday when he will be chasing his second straight win.

Pretty quiet for a game day.

No one wants to jinx a result.

Chance of rain tonight says the apple man in my phone.

Wanderers should do a tour of the country every pre-season. No need for backburning, put an end to bushfire season.

I can thunder in my area, storm is coming from the South, looks like it will hit Parra in an hour's time.

Oh and just an FYI, large hailstorm has hit Mittagong so more or less we will likely have a hail storm before KO

It might just slide past Parramatta or glance it, the wind is trending south-east.

Subs: Tass, Sullivan, Grozos, Yeboah, Russell, Adam, Suman.

Looks like we're sticking to 5-3-2.

Yep, the rain that hit down south earlier this afternoon was pretty intense - at around 4.30 the skies to the north were black and full of lightning, so I pulled into Goulburn for a short break only to find flash flooding all over the place. I decided to turn back, rather than continue north given the storm cell was tracking the same direction as the Hume! Definitely looks like I made the right call.

Edit: I live in Canberra.

It did not. Lol.

There's massive lightning all around as well as the rain. It's going to get pushed back to past 8 if not further I reckon.
