Football To Be Behind Closed Doors From Monday

Recommended Posts

There are football supporters online claiming that if the rest of the season is run solely out of New South Wales that just proves the Sydney bias the league has. Jesus. Where else could they do it given that we have 4 clubs within 2 hours drive of each other?

I'm not saying we should do it, but if they were going to do it, NSW is the only possible place. Pity we also have the highest amount of infected.

Maybe they could finish the comp out of Newcastle. Get all the players to stay in hotels in the Hunter.

Even for Op NSW wouldn’t they have to test every player and coach? And wouldn’t the public be in uproar when there are limited testing kits?

Cant see us continuing.

Yep, can't see it happening. It has to stop. The logistics and expenses would almost be counter-productive.

The only reason would be for overseas exposure due to potentially possible massive overseas ratings over the weekend because Europeans were bored and craving some live football action.

With what the A-League projected to the world , shut us down now before more embarrassment.

'Op NSW' will not be happening.

Not even the FFA can be that dumb that they'd continue the comp.

To be fair, they should be awarded the title. If it was us in this position, we'd be going ape-****.

Yet, I whole-heartedly agree. :)

Maybe the plate, but given the random nature of the a league finals series, can’t give them the toilet seat (that and the lack of paper to go with it)

Sad thing is we will cancel the rest of the season and no one in the MSM will notice.

If you get  your news from ABC New Breakfast you would assume the A League stopped about a year ago

The biggest problem with op NSW? We have the biggest source of (1) infections (2) community transmission. These guys could catch it & we wouldn’t know for days, too dangerous

Maybe we just move to play out of a random stadium out of the capital cities?

NRL gone.

They’ve decided that they can’t guarantee the safety of the players. Thank goodness they’ve put the players safety at the forefront & not other considerations

FFA announcement tomorrow morning. Pretty much certain A-League is done.

The commentators on the NEWvMCY are heavily suggesting that things are stopping & this was last game.

As per Adam Peacock on post game, “season suspended indefinitely, no restart date because of the fluid nature of the situation. NRL & AFL given dates but they are useless because things are changing so rapidly. Looking at pushing back the contract end date (May 31) with the PFA to end the season.”
