A-league 2019/20 Season Restart

Why is there such a desperation to have matches played at  Bankwest?

I'm pretty the original proposal mentioned Win Stadium as one of the venues to be used, Leichhardt was mentioned as well, there's also Penrith and Endeavour that aren't being used by NRL.

The playing surface is more important than the location to me.

Panthers won't let the grass be cut to a football length so it's too long

but would be convenient for me.

I thought Endeavour was being redeveloped but I could be wrong.

They've played quite a few Matildas matches  at Panthers  so I don't know what happens then.

Anyway there are other options available if Bankwest isn't up to scratch.

Just spotted this one on the A-league hub

Updated: FFA have had to loan Perth Glory a substantial sum to clear its debts to its players. Perth now owe a significant portion of the near $1 million in leave, superannuation and other matters that clubs had promised to clear by Wednesday. [Telegraph]

Known player movements

Bobby burns (jets) end of loan back to Hearts

Dario Jertec (fraudsters) unattached

Gregory Wuthrich (perth) unattached

Jacob Poulsen (Melb vic) retired

Ola Toivoven (Melb vic) unattached

Panthers wanted to buy the club but FFA said no so could be sour grapes as well.

Yes, surface quality should be number one priority.

Signed with Malmo in Sweden (for next season) before Covid even disrupted football.

The boys start training tomorrow. Honestly don't really care where the rest of the games are played, just want the boys to finish the season well and make the finals. You never know what could happen in the finals, if we play like we did against Sydney at Bankwest, we could have a good run.

So far the upcoming games are:

16th July: Melb Vic vs Fraudsters at AAMI Park (Round 28 game) , 6 days after a rugby union game.

17 July: Smurfs vs Nix at Kogarah (Round 21 game)

OK I heard A-League is coming back

Keen for it

Have been getting my football fix from promoting a 3.Liga club into the Bundesliga now. We've just finished sixth and I've signed Raheem Sterling and Saul on a free transfer, we just lost the European International Pre-Season Cup on penalties to Manchester United which wasn't great but oh well

The A-league moving further to a winter competition will make it less visable in the sporting landscape. It will become the B-league or a glorified NPL competition in my opinion.

I think the move is temporary because of the finish of the season is in the middle of winter. Plus it allows the world cup in Qatar will be in November.

He says we have all our foreigners, including Lopar and, contrary to the Club's statement, no mention of Lopar not being available for the rest of this season. Quality journalism as usual.

Victoria extends the state of emergency. Games scheduled for Victoria may have to be relocated.

Wollongong or Canberra would be like home.

Is Robbie Fowler going to coach Birmingham City?

Brad Inman reportedly off to India.

Kim (Perth) back to Korea

So if the "quarter of the seats" rule is applied, how is the club going to decide who gets to go? Ballot amongst members?

And will la banda and capo automatically get a gig or will others in RBB who do win the ballot have to give up their spots so the band can play on?

Probably Active and Red.

Drop black and general admission

I suspect it'll be a ballot where a portion of each membership category are picked per game

e.g. let's say the first game back allows for 6000 people inside Bankwest

1st priority - 55%

Foundation members (all tiers)

Red members

2nd priority - 35%

all remaining full season ticket holders (Black / White / General admission / RBB)

3rd priority - 10%

all part season ticket holders (3 game / 5 game)

as the Foundation and Red members take up their ballot for the first game, then the percentages might be adjusted again

The idea being that every member can go to at least one more game

Personally I’d be pissed of if they don’t look at who has being showing  up for the last four seasons

So I propose the following criteria

1) if you did Thursday night anz in the rain against Roar you get heated seat and escort into the ground

2) pissing rain anz v victory where Llorente pioneered social distancing before Covid was even thought of allowing victory to score twice

3) travelling to the coasties away end of last season

4) Phoenix game at anz

5) staying to the end of the derby when we got bummed senseless (and not in a good way)

Rumour around Roar supporters that Robbie Fowler and his side kick Grant not returning to finish the season.

What's the difference between a good way and a bad way?
