Papers would have got stuff written in response to their content written to them all the time in the old days. They would have chosen not to publish the vast majority of it. Okay, so news outlets will shut down comments or moderate them heavily. It's not like there's not literally a million other places where people can post their viewpoints. What do we lose by that?

It's interesting, there's a fair bit of concern from smaller publishers about this. The concern for me is... how did we let things get here where a facebook page is vital to the success of a company, and where being able to communicate via a private platform is considered a human right?

I know you dom't mean you' like some of the offensive stuff that social media is responsible for but if hate speech loses an outlet I won't be too upset.

Had to crack a wry smile ......fair bit of hate on this forum especially towards Gladys baby , and Mr. ScoMo.

Yea well we have them for a little bit longer at least , so enjoy but watch the level of  hate though , it's very self destructive to oneself and doesn't really hurt them.

Just as O'Bied and Co were corrupt and rightly got caught and were jailed the same will eventually happen to Gladys. Shredding docs is just the tip of the iceberg with her.  Fun times eh...? :D

It sucks but that's the way it used to be. And the reason lies with the Gov who pushed back the exams to when all kids return in November rather than keep them beginning in October- would have been possible, imo. Although i get why they did.

And Gladys bin-Chicken looks like she might end up being skewered if this keeps up. No wonder she turned up at the 11.00am press conference to do the Thatcher thing of staring down the press gallery. Might there be some focus group polling out there?

Gladys Berejiklian's own officials initially advised against setting aside funds for grant pursued by Daryl Maguire https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-09-13/berejiklians-officials-initially-advised-against-funds-for-grant/100457128

Just watched a Clive youtube...

He claims membership is exploding and he will fund his party the PUP far more than any other party.... further he says he is going after Labour in QLD.

Mostly running on an anti vax, big gov, don't trust experts etc.

One minister down, a whole govt to go.

Christian Porter has “taken the appropriate course of action” and resigned as a minister, Morrison announces.

So being an alleged rapist wasn't enough (which the LNP decided to block any investigation towards:https://www.sbs.com.au/news/renewed-calls-for-independent-inquiry-into-christian-porter-****-allegations/b180158b-6795-4d18-88d8-a39a0631d6c9  whatever happened to "if you've done nothing wrong, you've got nothing to worry about?" )

It was only because he accepted money and he didn't know where it was from!

Classic LNP: cares only about money.

The one solace is that this was the Attorney General and he ****ed his own defamation case so hard. What a dropkick.

The statement he made is worth a read. I wonder who the donors were that he feels to need to protect them from woke Twitterati so much he decided to not do a hard voluntary bit of his job.

So let's summarise what has happened this

1. All the news is that Morrison f***ed up on the vaccination.

2. Diversion strategy 1: let's announce and new submarine deal

3. Diversion strategy 2: let's get rid of a dysfunctional minister and possible alternative Conservative Party leader.
