exactly. Everyone just looks at the "results". They forget the games.

The game we won was Rd1 and that was more the players putting in a huge shift as an FU to Popa and sticking together. Foxe threw away a 2-0 lead to SFC by refusing to do any subs and SFC came back to draw level. He was too focused on the FFA Cup semi on the Tuesday which we got completely outplayed in and lost. Many of his "fans" forget this game. We were useless. The rest of the AL games were not great and we were going through the motions. There was no sign of tactical nous at all. Would not have been a good appointment to give him the full time job. Then again, we got Gombau and we know how that went.

I do vaguely remember that semi final. All I remember is Daniel Adlung? scoring a belter against us for Adelaide.

I was at the derby as well and I must admit it was very disappointing throwing away that lead, however we could've lost it cause im pretty sure Matt Simon hit the post in the last minute.

honestly i was mostly thinking about his victory and wellington sides which were imo boring, forgot about newcastle

Merrick in season 2 and 4 with victory was very entertaining

go on you tube and look for Fred and Hernandez

their best seasons and their teams played fantastic football

we could do a lot worse (and have) then Merrick

Yeah MV became the biggest club in the competition under Merrick.

Fred, Allsop, Archie, Hernandez, Muscat, Theo, Vargas etc.

Also great players like Claudinho and Leandro Love.

They struggled a few years after they sacked him and only became competitive again under Muscat.

Crittenden for me

I agree with you.  Blacktown City have been a very successful and  well organised club for a long time, both our grades got an absolute hiding from them Friday night,

You would have thought it was the Blacktown under 20s who had all the highly regarded young  footballers, not us

If there ever was a time to appoint him it would be now, if he's interested.

No wonder he was punted he managed to lose a game against himself 😜

Haha. I was going to post that hours ago but I thought I'd give Mack the benefit of the doubt as he got the article out quickly.

Stonehenge: scraping the barrel | The Heritage Journal

"He had become disillusioned by the financial hurdles hampering the club from striving for the success they enjoyed under Ange Postecoglou."

....an he's coming to us???

Okon wasn't too flash at the Mariners....being a good player doesn't always convert into being a good coach. Looks like Harry Kewell might be looking for another job soon :xnod:

Didn't do much with the Olyroos before that either.

John Aloisi, Hayden Foxe, Patrick Zwaanswijk.

No to all three, thanks.

Do we just put the job out to tenure and hire who ever is the cheapest.

Don't give Lederer ideas!

Papas and Talay reportedly being considered to take the job.

Can't see either of them joining this shipwreck.

Would be happy with either of those (but agree they may not want the poisoned chalice). And would like to also see Crittenden if he were interested.

I haven't forgotten the cup game at Campbelltown, as much as I might have tried. Dreadful performance

just been deperatures so far, there has to be a falling out to get rid of JP after just a few months again signing him on as new coach, lets hope the new coach comes in soon and then chooses the team, we are becoming more and more of a circus the last few years, lot of members are not renewing this coming season, the passion is dying in the stands and so is the passion from the players

We are a joke of a football club.

Someone needs to ask Lederer and the way how he has ran our football club for the last 6 years. Whatever happened to the external enquiry Lederer said he will get?

Sounds like it was kept internal to the club.

We heard you the first time..no need to shout ;)

Don't disagree though.

Agree also. We've become that 7th heaven club we used to laugh at...... and now its humble pie time.

Not that I would take that comment from a smurf without punching them in the nose.... but it does hurt (a lot)

Never in my wildest did I think a club with this much potential could ever be here - we ARE football... and yet they manage to f$#% it up. You would think the afl or Ch7 are running the club :(

It’s been like this for three years now this is a minor **** up compared to Popavic going a week before the season with no contingency plan in place, or the move to ANZ and dismantle the squad year
