The man had Elan

Hahaha... in the car a short time ago, an ABC sports commentator referred to Tommy Raudonikus' (sp???) "unique elan".

An image of the differences in the"elan" of these two blokes made me LOL!

The man named Carl, a questionable coach

Other teams talent, he did poach

An impressive speaker, started strong

As time went on, things have gone wrong

It seems that Carl, is short of a tactic

The only word that fits here, is anaphylactic

 This is a pleasing effort, Hughsey, but you need a little work on that final rhyme!

I know a manager from Wales

But his three at the back

Comes undone in attack

And the wins happen less than the fails.

The WSF Poetry Society is now in session......Best effort so far, just changed 1 line though.......lol

That was close to what I had originally but I  tried to cover both the rubbish build up and nothing crosses of our own attacks AND the weakness when we get attacked ourselves

Oh I don't know - Tommy could wear a flat cap too! Usually with someone else's blood on it though.......

There once was a coach called carlo

To four at the back he said hell no

With centre backs three

we concede a mad penalty

But if you want Elan Marcus Babbel is your man

needs work poetry ain’t my thing

But for elan, try Mark Babbel's flat cappo?

Your final line there contains effective internal rhyme, Ed.

You have potential as a poet! Keep trying! 💛

You need to put a little more effort into the 4th line. It needs to rhyme with three, Stringer.

And Potkorok's suggestion for the final line is exactly what's needed at the end!

But keep trying, and you'll get there!  :D

Shouldn't this be in the rail network thread?

Lol...back to the PUNS thread with you, Ed.

It's a combo, with unfair penalties being the least important, actually, screw that. 1 and 3 all the way.

The fight from the players, which genuinely looked like at least might be in his plus column early on via his man management or whatever, that doesn't seem to be a thing either.

Looking at the table and the amount of games that other teams have in hand over us, we are in serious trouble if we don't start picking up 3 points weekly.

I'm not happy to say that unless things change drastically, we'll be lucky to make the top 8, let alone the 6.

With the depth of talent we have in our squad, this is completely unacceptable.

I'm not CR out yet, but **** me, it's really not good enough.

The drawn games are the killer.....we have 6 so far....the most in the league......that's 12 dropped points right there.

We’ve been in serious trouble for weeks now. Most of the games in hand across the competition are yet to be made up, yet we’re gradually sliding down the table having played the most games of everyone.

Yeh, I know. I'm always trying to keep a positive spin on things. We should have won in Wollongong. We should have beaten Adelaide at home and Brisbane away, and probably even the Mariners the other night with a bit of luck.

That would have given us another 9 points on the table and we'd be leading the comp.

It's these games that have destroyed my confidence and optimism. We seriously have underperforming players and questionable tactics. Week after week.

Our squad, playing at their full potential, should be destroying this league. Alas, it is just more mediocrity week after week.

It's depressing.

What's just as depressing (and ******* boring) is reading buzz words like elan and eestwa in posts week after week. Not sure if it's attempted humor or not but geez, give it a rest people.

We need POPA if we want to make final football.
