UK transfer window closes at 11:00 pm BST on the 31 Aug which i think is 8.00 am on the 1st September. 

This guy is a free agent apparently with Bournemouth interested. Thoughts

There has been speculation about him behind the scenes a few weeks ago (which may just have been fantasy football talk). A player of his pedigree would be quite something, and just about a job guarantee for CR.

Saying that, having three import spots open now does not mean that these spots will be filled. The next incoming player might just be the last major edition before SKO. 

We are looking a little light up front (Hemed, Ibini, Troisi, Petratos the only established attacking players). Another striker seems more urgent and likely.

There is a tick box missing in the transfermarkt database: “is this player willing to come to Australia?”. That would cut back to number of candidates back by 90 percent.

Andy Carroll is incredibly injury prone. The last thing we need.

If you want to bypass football on the ground and lump it in to the box every time then he's your man, seen him many times over the years a bloody handful in the box but holding up and passing triangles not his strongest suite but has mentioned lots of injuries and fitness issues.

Surely we have a couple more A League signings left. That email from over 3 weeks ago said multiple A league and W league signings to come. In that time we have signed nearly the whole W league team and just Petratos.
