Mooy to return to A league for short term stint from Jan to April

We are apparently chasing, along with Smurfs and City

Timed it well. Quarantine is abolished in NSW and VIC from December if coming from the UK.

In the Club Captain we trust

Lets say the rumour is true.

Sydney have 1 spot left in their squad and its likely they're close to the cap.

City have a fair few spots open including foreign spots. Their better players such as Maclaren will be on big coin but likely on a marquee contract. They still could have a fair bit left in the cap.

We have a few spots left and Robinson has said we still have a bit left in the cap. Who knows what players we are allocating the marquee and designated spots to. That will ultimately determine whether we have enough room in the cap or not.

Cap won't matter if he fits in the new designated player spot

The wage for a designated player spot is $300,000-$600,000.

Marquee is an unlimited amount outside the cap.

Wouldn't you think Mooy would probably command marquee wages instead of designated player wages?

If it's only for 3-4 months like the rumour said, could easily be for 600k surely? May be a loan deal

Do we know what formation Robbo wants go with this coming season?

So from what i've seen and heard there are 3 formations Robinson is looking to play this season:

1: 4-3-3   2: 3-5-2/5-3-2     3: 3-4-2-1

In the recent ESPN interview Carl cited using a 3 man midfield in a 4-3-3. This would likely mean we have Antonis, Ugarkovic and Baccus in midfield, with Petratos on one of the wings.

He also cited the 3-5-2/5-3-2 which he used a lot this season. Not much needs to be said here, 2 mids, an attacking mid and 2 strikers.

Finally he cited using a midfield with 2 10's and 1 striker, which could link to what we saw in a video posted by Kenny Miller, where it looked like Hemed up top with 2 inside forwards/attacking midfielders. It shaped up as a 3-4-2-1.

The Newcastle Jets are bidding for Jack Wilshere:

Surely, Robbo would try his luck to get him? Only concern is he is very injury prone.

He has got bids from Wigan Athletic and some middle eastern clubs.

WSW, Sydney and WU are funding the Jets.

It was reported last year that we made an offer to him and he rejected.

However allegedly the story was the agent offered Wilshere's services to us but we weren't willing to pay his wages considering his injury record.

If true, this likely wouldn't have been reported as Wilshere's team wouldn't want to publicly say they were rejected by some random Australian team.

Someone asked the question where are the Jets getting the money from.

Simple.

They haven't grossly overinvested in poorly performing so called Academies , or so presumptuously called Centres of Excellence.

The Jets are currently funded by 3 other clubs.

Unpopular opinion, if the Jets cannot sustain themselves let them fold.

It's mostly to satisfy the broadcasting arrangement.

Newcastle is an important football region historically too.

But I don't disagree with your sentiment.

So is the Wollongong area and they have been shafted for years. The current Newcastle model cannot be sustained indefinitely without a deadline to focus minds.

If this club had used some of the money to acquire and pay top money for players instead of overinvesting in the so called Centre of Excellence maybe we would have eclipsed our eastern rivals in terms of success. Instead our trophy cabinet is full of coachroach droppings , dust and cobwebs.
