Ps. Can someone explain to me what the low pitched droning noise is prior to kick off that makes me want to rip my ears off and why it takes the players 10 mins to appear from the tunnel?
  2. 4 points
No doubt. And, well done on your performances tonight behind the microphone. Yes, it's loud, but it's professional, and it's actually great to see and hear commentary from actual ground announcers who are fans.
  3. 3 points
It’s not meant to take as long as it does. It’s meant to be a short segment and then cuts as soon as players come out - but we’re queued too early and players take too long to enter the tunnel.

    Squad Development 2019/20 Part 2

This club was at its peak when it didn’t have a lot and made the most of what it did have. Any review needs to look at going back to this mindset of an honest, hard working attitude where you don’t need all the bells and whistles to succeed. I think employing more personnel in the football side of things would be a too many chiefs and not enough Indians type deal. When Popa was at the club, he was the top dog and that was that.
  5. 3 points
Sacking him alone won't solve the problem but you have to start somewhere. The problems are obviously much more deep seated and relate to the club as a whole, which is why I think an external review is required. As far as the team is concerned might have to consider giving young Pagden and one or two other youth players a start.

Yeboahs goal for me hit upper arm near shoulder region. I don't think its CLEAR and OBVIOUS so I don't think it should be overturned. Mcgowan has made me hit breaking point now. So unbelievably rubbish you can't explain it. For those who say Jurman doesn't care I strongly disagree. He constantly fights for the team and especially after the game I thought they really cared. (Although he did annoy me when he suddenly thought he could turn into Vincent Kompany in the 89th minute shooting from an impossible angle). Kamau was very lazy. I remember once it was him and Muller on a break, Muller bursting into space and Kamau just jogging along not giving a stuff. Yeboah tries so hard but jeez he can be extremely bad. Ziegler is also extremely annoying, frustrating and overall very rubbish. His constant complaining, whinging and whining on the pitch looks really bad and unprofessional. And it makes me laugh when he tries to look really big and square up to other players. Mans gonna get sent to another dimension with his twiggy build. Like mate you spent more than a season and a half coming back from an injury that should've taken 6 weeks to heal. I know i'm going to get slated for this but I'm starting to feel Duke is turning into a Yeboah as well. Gives his all but jeez some of the football he is playing is atrocious. And HE is the one banging on in the media saying its not good enough and it should be better. Well then you gotta step up and rise to the occasion mate. In the reports about Babbel being sacked it says JP and/or Haliti will become the managers? Seriously who thinks that giving JP the job is the right idea. I think we should go local but if not #SvenIn or #GuusIn I've had enough rambling for one night, I just wanna go back to the old days

this post isnt so much about the match but during half time one of the regulars who i dont talk to often came up to me and we had a good chat, just reminded me how good the wanderers family can be, its nice enough people who are your friends offering you a hand but someone you dont know that well offering a hand is even better(in some ways)

I have a suspicion that a review would recommend changes in personnel more than increasing headcount, but I think there's merit in having a position created overseeing and making recommendations regarding all the football functions of the club including coaching appointments and recruiting.
  13. 2 points
I'd also add, I think there needs to an external review of the whole football management structure in particular, whether additional positions are needed and whether existing positions are being performed effectively or not.

If Babel wasn’t in charge last night I still see the same result. Sacking him alone is not going to fix the problem. Mcgowan is slower than a wet week and constantly chasing his tail while Jurman can’t play a ball that isn’t sideways or within 2m. Between them they struggle to win an aerial contest despite being two of the tallest on the field and don’t get me started on how often they let the striker drift into open space. Their communication appears nonexistent at times. Kamau is built like a toothpick and has the ticker of one, god forbid he ever went into a tackle with some commitment. The glass man. Ziegler is a myth and I’m yet to see him do anything that justifies the hype he receives around here. He’s a poor mans *insert stock standard Aussie A-League DM*... if that. There’s more chance of finding Maddy McCann than Yeboahs ball control at the moment. He’s more danger to himself than the defence the way he takes it forward. I’d hate to see him walk through a door way, he’s probably hit the frame. God knows what has happened to him, what a serious decline in raw talent it’s been. I keep hearing how Babbel needs to be the leader of culture within an organisation and getting them going etc etc. None of these above mentioned criticisms have anything to do with that, it’s just players simply playing like shite. Russel and Sullivan made an immediate impact of the bench and I’d love to see Tass come back into central defence when he returns. I’ll throw this point in while I’m at it cause its forever happened regardless of manager, playing personnel or opponent and been the same thing since we entered the competition. The clubs almost at its 8th year of existence and we still can’t take a bloody corner. Either struggles to beat the front post defender or it’s beautifully pitched up into the air for the keeper to calmly grab on the penalty spot with little pressure. I reckon one in two dozen corners for us look somewhat dangerous. It seems to be an inherent WSW trait for some reason.

Hard for him to commit to a target when he isn’t in power and what be for the next three years. Can’t commit to achieve something by 2025 when you won’t be in power until 2022-23, if the Libs don’t reduce emissions at all then labor are left with 2 years to do the lot.
  16. 2 points
It's effing hilarious when I hear people saying that a party that introduced a carbon policy that was working, got defeated at the ballot box because of it, should now have to be the ones to step up to do the dirty work on emission reductions again....while those that tore it down and are commited to do nothing get a free pass......ie the current govt.........what an effing farce.......

That presentation annoyed me. It was just JT grandstanding in an attempt to quell the uprising unrest. Half the crowd didn't even know who Cox was or that we'd even signed him. The applause was muted at best. There was a bigger cheer for the random fan cam when the dopey bastard realized it was himself on the screen. (Apologies if that random fan is on this forum ) Desperate times at the club me thinks.
  18. 2 points
That is what I was saying, it was a typical Popa ground out performance wasn't it. Perth got a bit lazy at times in front of goal but they did more than enough the get the result. A few times Perth could have looked forward to better attacking options but held back. I don't think they got out of second or third gear and in the first half it felt like a training pitch game...that comfortable.

Lopar is not to blame for that goal. He was diving the right way and then the shot got deflected and the ball bounced over his legs.

Majority of the squad should be sacked too, if your coach falls on his sword, your not doing enough to justify your contract at the club. The lack of effort in chasing was evident yet again tonight, the fact that we needed another VAR drama to fire the squad up shows they are mentally weak and not deserving to wear the shirt.... it’s a disgrace
  22. 2 points
Mack, correct me if I'm wrong, but I get the impression from the tone of your match report that you'd like Babbel gone. Is that correct?

Ya know, I've wondered with the depth on paper/experience that the side has, whether we've got too many cooks in the team, and not enough grunts? I once ran this project where I had the opportunity to assemble the best and most experienced team possible, and it failed dismally as no one wanted to listen and do the job required. Everyone had an opinion and couldn't take direction or there experience and ego would cloud the blueprint and end game. Don't get me wrong, I'm quite dissapointed to see how fixed mindset MB actually is, but when some of our youth get a run there's energy there that's not in the starting side. Thoughts?

Apparently the Midgets captain (i think he's captain) who is from Perth was at bankwest today - in the away bay. Shame we were too caught up in our own situation to give this one the derision it deserves.

He hasn't announced the new time frame and only announced it today (or yesterday). He's being a typical politician. No detail about anything until they think it might get them re-elected. Both sides are as bad as each other really. It sickens me. Oh, for the days of another Hawke or Keating. Even Howard to a lesser extent, despite his policies.

I have repeatedly said its not a left / right issue... we need a new government as the Libs of today will do SFA .... but we need strong leadership from the ALP and also a policy set and campaign that can win government ... My analysis of why Shorten lost the election was because he took some crazy economic polices to the election, and on CC was great at quoting slogans but hopeless at the detail and debating CC almost as if he saw CC as a hot point to talk about but had little ability to discuss in detail... further his campaign was terrible As for Albo the jury is still out .... I want him to win but from what I have seen so far and its early days he does not fill me with confidence that he can win... mind you I thought the same about John Howard in his first year as opposition leader around 1994 or their abouts... [PS I understand he was the leader before but the last time he was the leader of the opposition I thought in the early days he was a gone-a and Keating would eat him alive]

Whats not said often enough is who we are actually fighting... Jones & Bolt are pawns and their ego and rating drive them and that they have power... The real fight is against about 8 large Oil producing countries and some of those in the middle east where oil is their major source of revenue.... Add the 7 big oil companies and roughly 50 mega big coal mining companies.... at best 100 countries, and corporations.... but these corporations are beyond corrupt and spin and spin and spin... Imagine if oil was worth next to nothing who will fund terrorism to the extent it is today..... Next forget the fossil fuel industry is the richest, biggest, industry with very powerful people not wanting to loss their wealth or more over not increase their existing wealth.

Fornaroli Pulls Trigger On Babbel Sacking

TBF this was not the worst performance that we played. The second half they showed a bit more gritt but still not good enough. McGowan and Jurman really seem like they don't want to be there. I cannot see Babble surviving but if he goes I hope JP goes as well. Unfortunately the A league doesn't make it easy to make too many changes in Jan.....so rinse repeat and at the end of season we end up with a new set of players ( & coach)
  33. 1 point
Serious question but do we know Babbel is the person who made that signing?

Fornaroli Pulls Trigger On Babbel Sacking

bUt We HaD 60% pOsSeSiOn... I’m so tired of hearing things like that. How about pressing high, defending from the front... put pressure on the other team. Passes seem too slow, indecisive... hospital passes... We need to be quicker. Swifter. Easy for me to say from here, I know. But hopefully there is a turnaround soon...

Don’t understand why he doesn’t start Sullivan also, with Muller in his natural wing position. Same same will result in same result tonight. Just got to my seat, better turnout than I thought.
