and WSW is claiming Harrington Park. Put it this way, if Yeboah had a shot at Macarthur's front doors - the ball would land in Harrington Park that's how close it is.

You aren't alone, WB. The only comfort of sorts is that there is a sense of unity in so many others sharing your sense of desolation and helplessness. And maybe there's a sense that we have reached a turning point. If not, I hate to think what it will take to reach one. The plane crash and the loss of lives from overseas is just horrendous. Take care my friend.

came to this topic to complain about how long it took for it to cool down yesterday but a passionate post like this really puts things in perspective, its depressing how many things are going wrong, its especially upsetting that they were from the USA because if you are fighting for your country its courageous and kind but fighting for someone else's country is just that much more amazing and everyone who is putting their lives on the line to protect us and our wildlife have my utmost respect, its not all negative there has been a tonne of people helping out and donating so its shown the best of humanity but there is still a lot of bad

Funny how it's the relative pittance of a 100m program that might finally actually see some ramifications for corruption and not the billions they've wasted or helped big business steal over the last decade.

Fair dinkum, can this summer really get any worse? 3 firefighters lost their lives this afternoon when their C - 130 fire fighting aircraft crashed in the Snowy Mountains. They were volunteers from the USA. It distresses me immensely that so many lives have been affected this summer. Nearly 30 lives lost, and getting close to near 3000 homes lost across all states. Not to mention the devastation to wildlife - over a billion lives lost just there. The wildlife that survived will probably die anyway due to a lack of food and water. I'm feeling so sad tonight. Lost for words.

Here come the cuts at Fox Sports. Got to love the rugby establishment, keeping Phil Kearns in a job: https://www.smh.com.au/sport/rugby-union/top-rugby-host-sacked-on-eve-of-super-rugby-launch-20200123-p53tyi.html Now we just have to wait until they announce the A-League cuts at the end of the season. I suspect the A-League and general football operation is already pretty lean (and the W-ALeague even leaner), but some will no doubt lose out in some way.

    Climate Change & Alternative Energy

Balks and I recently installed solar panels on our house. Cost us $7000, but has reduced our bill from $1000 per quarter to -$350. Our energy company is actually paying us now. We will have these panels paid off in two years and still have 8 years of our warranty to run. At the moment, batteries of any decent capacity are still quite expensive and make it a lot harder to achieve a good ROI on a solar system, but we made sure our inverter is future proofed and can take batteries at some point in the future. When the time comes, we will install a battery or two and upgrade to a completely electric car. I'd be quite happy not spending $70 a week on petrol. Obviously this isn't achievable for everyone, especially renters, but given Australia's climate and the amount of sun we get, it's a no brainer for us. Seeing the results we got, my parents installed a smaller system at their house, and reduced their bills from $1000 to $200.

Letter to SMH 21/1/20. After Senator Michaelia Cash’s outrageous rant about electric cars during the election, I bought one. It's great ("Steering towards electric vehicles", January 20). Only needs charging about every 10 days, which I do at home. Done 8000 kilometres and not cost a cent for power because of my solar panels. My favourite thing to do when stopped at traffic lights beside a tradie in a ute is to flatten the accelerator and leave them for dead when the lights turn green.

Wind farms killing birds and making people sick? So on top of ignoring the science on climate change we’re ignoring the studies that show fossil fuel power generation kills twenty times the birds per kW produced than wind, and that complaints about wind turbine illness correlate with media coverage rather than turbine location, demonstrating the nocebo effect.

Away ticket prices slowly crept up over the years so people start to reconsider attending all these extra away games in a season. Add our poor performances on top and it's understandable why numbers are dwindling. Some of the scheduling hasn't helped either for these CCM/jets away games in the past

100 million is a pittance. Remember the wonderful Kevin Ruddster and the pink batts disgrace. Cost 2.8 BILLION and four lives. Rorted by every spiv in the country. Crooks in Southwest Sydney becoming rich overnight. Houses catching fire , bodgey jobs having to be fixed.Textbook case of incompetence and waste. Then the even more wonderful Julia Gillard and her 16.2 BILLION Building the Education Revolution stuff up. Massive overcharging for jobs and rorting. School halls and buildings botched and built when not needed. And of course our overfunded joke of an education system has produced pathetic educational results , Borat's Kazakhstan is ahead of use in education results. Maybe if teachers spent more time teaching instead of organizing CC demos and writing out placards for the kids to display at demos , the kids could learn to spell and do simple arithmetic. And at least sporting clubs got money , not to thug unions.

    W-League & WSW WL Discussion 2019/20

FTBL reporting Smurf Logarzo off to England after Matilda's camp. The Women's Derby at Cromer Park (synthetic pitch) in a few weeks will have 4 players gone for various reasons. For us, Denise O'Sullivan completed her guest stint and Erica Holloway is out with an ACL injury. For the Smurfs, Foord and Logarzo gone off to England.

Based on the ATB interview, we could be playing the following 2 formations 3-4-1-2 Muller and Duke as twin strikers 4-2-3-1 Cox replacing Majewski in either formation.

You think by now WSW fans would know that the club does everything behind closed doors and only announces things once they're done. Do people really expect the club to tweet "JT just sent an email to X coach, we'll keep you posted"? We may not always agree with their decisions but to think they make decisions rashly is a bit naive imo.

Yeah sure. Arnie gives up coaching a premiership winning club to take the Socceroos to a World Cup - but no wait, stuff that I will go back to the A-League to coach a team in turmoil, with clueless administrators and fans that hold him in such regard that they painted a tifo of him fellating a wanderdog. As for Ange, yeah no worries, just won the J-League, but you know what that couldn’t possibly beat a stint in Parra. I love our club to bits. I even love reading this forum so much I decided to start posting after years lurking. But sheesh people gotta get real...

No champ, I have multiple contacts within the club & have done since day 1. I try not to post anything that would damage the club, but, for those who have been watching this channel since mid 2012, they know how to interpret stuff I may post from time to time on here. I don't post stuff on here, no matter how unintelligible, for any reason other than to provide a heads up or to quell unrest within the forumites. It doesn't benefit me in any way, if anything, I cop plenty of grief from club employees from time to time, who do interpret my postings as undermining their work / pending announcements.

I read somewhere, I think it was the AFR, about what the LNP will do after the climate change stuff becomes irrefutable They’ll say “Yes, climate change is real but it’s already happening and we can’t do anything about it so we’ll have to grow the economy so that we can fund preventative measures”

Why not consider this Labi’s half season interview? For that matter, Heff, Meggsy and Catherine Cannuli are also putting themselves firmly in the shop window with the W League this year. The ladies are certainly playing some attractive football right now. The club has some very promising young coaches in the ranks. Let JP take the brunt of the rest of this **** show of a season. No point ruining someone with promise when they can quietly continue to learn their craft in the background while JP takes the heat. All of our early success was with a newly minted first team coach after all. No reason that can’t happen again with the right person.

I usually enjoy the Guardian’s coverage but Christ, what a pompous article. “This thing that should be fun is bringing people too much fun.” Seriously, part of what makes the Aleague great is it’s utter insanity. Give me Matt Simon thrashing home a penalty in the 95 or whatever minute it was or Graham Arnold demanding an apology on live TV over the boring sanitised product of the top leagues any day.
