I think the handball red was the right call. He might have gotten away with playing advantage (although that would have been exceptionally controversial and still might have got called back by VAR anyway) if the player on the ball hadn't shined it to the keeper. But it was a foul under the laws and it prevented the attacker's cut back to have a 1 on 1 with the keeper, and since it wasn't the tackle itself that caused the foul he didn't get the protection of the "attempt at making a football challenge" reduction to a yellow.
