Away trips to the likes of Lincoln City, Fleetwood and Rochdale next season for us. I don't want to go down but if I did still live in the UK I would be looking forward to some away trips to new grounds I guess...

Roar v Wanderers this week we gunna win ?,  Yeboah probably played his last game for WSW MacArthur will be his new home

We've played them twice at home this season for a draw & a loss, so I'd expect a us to win this Friday night away from home. 

Anyone heading to the members' event at the Cinema in Parramatta

It will be interesting to see how far we’ve come but I feel like with both our wingers missing in a back 3 will hamper our efforts.

I’m certainly looking forward to a better effort than the last two times, at least they don’t have RoD to injure one of our players so they can score while he’s off the field

I know Noah Pagden went with the squad because him and Muller had a photo together today in Brisbane on Muller's Instagram...but that doesn't mean anything. it's interesting that Kamau is listed onto the squad even though he copped an injury and I also wonder if Baccus is actually back this week.

Surely JP will stick to the 3-5-2 (really it's 3-4-1-2) formation?

The hardest part of Jordan O'Doherty's path to recovery from a knee reconstruction was the uncertainty. It wasn't just that the Western Sydney Wanderers midfielder didn't know exactly how long it would take before he would play again, but also whether he would still have the same touch, the same strength or worse, the same mentality.

Almost immediately after he went down early in a 1-1 draw with Perth Glory at Spotless Stadium in February last year, O'Doherty was given the news that he had ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament. He never feared the surgery nor the hard work required for the rehabilitation, only the risk of not being able to work his way back into the Wanderers' midfield and perform to his old standard.

"I had never gone through an injury like this before, all I could do is ask questions of other players, other lads who have gone through similar injuries. That really helped me, talking to boys who had similar injuries as me," O'Doherty said.

"One of the lads I spoke to heavily was Tarek Elrich. I played with him at Adelaide as well, I was there when he had his injury at Adelaide and I remember watching him go through his rehab at Adelaide… Speaking to him about those things when I had similar problems, just asking questions about how he felt mentally definitely helped out."

"The hardest part was not knowing where you sit in regards to how you are going to get back," he said. "You don’t know if you are going to get back to the same strength and everything else. You don’t know if you will lose your touch. The hardest period was probably getting back into training and being back training and just getting back to doing things the way they were before."

O'Doherty travelled with the squad to Brisbane for Friday night's clash against the Roar, who the Wanderers suggest are one of the most difficult teams to beat in the A-League.

Meanwhile, fullback Tate Russell signed a one-year contract extension with the Wanderers on Thursday, keeping him at the club until the end of next season.

“I’m buzzing to get that next contract and I’m just looking forward to working hard, improving as a footballer and as a person, improving the team in any way that I can,” Russell said.

The 22-year-old spent 12 months working constantly with the club's physio and medical staff but says it was the guidance of one of his former teammates that helped him mentally overcome the challenge of the injury. Fullback Tarek Elrich took O'Doherty under his wing throughout his rehab to help the youngster with the mental hardships of bouncing back from such a serious injury.

After 362 days out of the game, O'Doherty made his return from injury in the Wanderers' 5-2 win over Adelaide a fortnight ago. He backed that up with an appearance off the bench in last week's derby win over Sydney FC. It was one of the sweetest victories for the Wanderers in recent years but O'Doherty brushed aside suggestions of it leaving a hangover with the Western Sydney players.

"The other night was unbelievable with the boys and the effort showed. It showed great character and what we are all about," he said. " We enjoyed it for sure but it tapered off when we got back into training."

I can only assume he is one of the "already signed elsewhere players" and given he doesn't add any value to the team's performance this year, there is literally no point in persisting with him.

The math here is flawed. WSW losing is the same result as BR winning. You have not considered the possibility that WSW might win. Some may argue that that that is a fair assumption with Beath as the ref. Better to take the averages of WSW and BR's records under Beath.

Definitely a key game. Roar and Adelaide are in reach on the table, so essentially we have to outperform their results for the remainder of the season. We don't play Adelaide again, so tonight's match is our last chance to have a direct say in either of those teams fortunes.

Even with injuries and suspensions i am much more confident these days. Our organisation is unrecognizable from Babbels rabble days...everyone seems to know their role again.

We will put in a good shift and hopefully will be enough.

That's true. As for tonight, the great run in our first season basically started with a big home win over Adelaide followed by beating Sydney away !!
