    Cast iron DRAW.

    2-2.

    With 4 own goals.

It's the way the season is going for both of us.

Will still be a nice day out, all the same.

My favourite ground to watch football.

yeah it's great except the 'sun trap' we usually end up with for a 5pm kick off.

Who cares, all that matters is making sure our team puts on a massive performance in two weeks against Sydney.

The only thing left to play for this year.

It felt good last season when we beat them and prevented them from being undefeated. But beating them in two weeks time won't mean all that much (for me anyway). They can use the excuse they took it easy, and it probably won't happen anyway. Also makes us look like we are forever looking up to them.

I would rather the team attempt to make the six, but importantly show gradual improvement in all the games we play. That is the best we can hope for.

I don’t care. It’s about pride now after the embarrassing 5 nil onslaught and giving the fans something to cheer about, lord knows we won’t be cheering about anything else this season.

Sick of rolling over and getting dicked in big games with such a frail mentality. Been happening for years now.

I just don't see "pride" as being winning one Derby game, if we are going to play poorly for the rest of the season  and finish down the bottom somewhere.

At this point, "pride" is players putting in and making progress/getting results. Showing that the club is up there again with the main contenders (Derby win or not).

    Trying to remain patient tbh.

I feel this is just pre season for us now for next year.

I just hope things improve a bit more towards seasons end than what’s been dished out week after week.

I’m not patient using this season as preseason is total bollocks.

The a League is a top 6 with a few knock out games. The aim has to be to make the 6 (preferably the 4) and cause an upset in the semis somewhere

Beating sydney in the semis or final would be satisfying, winning one of the regular season games but then bombing our less so

Very disappointing that club hasn’t managed to replace Cornthwaite, despite having a foriegn spot available.

im clinging to the hope that cejudo gets fit and has a big finish to season

if the new signing works out, cejudo gets fit and carrusca continues to improve we will have a decent front four.

we are very reliant on aspro coming back into form, and Gumby realising that Hammil is a walking disaster zone

Nothing that I have seen in the last few weeks gives me hope of things improving in the near future so the pressure is off. I will be going to Gosford and plan to enjoy the day, meet a few other WSW fans and then go the the game.

This must be the first trip up to the Mariners that I have no result expectation whatsoever.

Nothing in the last few weeks is giving me any realistic sign of improvement but the optimist in me wants to belive that Gumby can salvage something.

but If we aren’t improving then the pressure should be mounting on Gumby and the club.

As a fan base we should expect more from the club, and I don’t think there is anything wrong with that.

So I’m with you in a way,  realistically I don’t expect much this week but I’m pissed off that this is the case and I expect far more from this club

    does that make sense?

Agreed .....we've been sinking from the derby onwards with the occasional breath in between. I'm not happy about it but this season is gone.....the worst part about it is the long lasting damage this is doing to the fanbase.....and by fanbase I mean the foundation  and long term members members that have lost interest.

You had an expectation last game after our 5-0 hammering by Sydney?

Yeah I did.....I expected a reaction from the players and there was one ....well at least until the ref and VAR took over and the game became a farce.

We were dreadful against Perth before the sending off.

Every club has felt what some people are feeling now. Adelaide had a decade of it, smurfs had 6 seasons of being utter poo.

We still have people that want to renew their membership & we have a shiny new stadium on the horizon, Gombau will build the team he wants and Arnie will leave making smurfs once again the joke of the A League.

    Good times ahead :)

It was only 5 mins in when the red was given...

According to the fox sport blog for the match the only things of note that happened beforehand were a Perth shot that was easily saved and Riera putting a dangerous ball across the face of the Perth goal.

Can’t belive I watched it back, but I did. You are quite right there was only three minutes before the foul (another 2 of Var to decide and give the pen)

In that time not much happened (other than the penalty itself) , we did find time to do our usual trick (that annoys me no end) of playing the ball back from midfield to centre back, to other centre back to keeper to then hoof the ball back to where it came from in the first place and lose it.

Yep harsh to say we were **** in three minutes but equally impossible to see a “Reaction”

If it wasn’t for the foul and penalty we would have been 1-0 down in just over three minutes.

Stringer must have found some issues with the pre-game handshakes

If Gumby picks Hammil again over aspro on the weekend that will be enough to tip me over the edge

Basically I have all the anger and rage of a late 90s Nu Metal band

I'd really like to know what all our past coaches have seen in Hamill that I don't see. He must do things in training that we don't see at the game.

Hammil does most things right for the majority of the game so if you carefully edited his performance he'd look amazing. The problem is that he usually has one catastrophic mistake each game which cancels it all out. The game in Wellington is a good example. I thought he actually had a really good game there... right up to the part where he got sent off.

He's like a surgeon who does everything prefect, right up to the part where he kills the patient.

    • Best shown by a chance Toure had when an Indonesian player had fallen over, he had a simple ball about 10 meters that would have put one of our attackers clean through for a one on one. He over-hit it and ruined the chance. Also falling for the same old Asian team diving & time wasting, by giving away stupid fouls to let them fall over and sit on the ground for minutes. 11 minutes stoppage time is probably half what it deserved.
    • Yet again, a failure of pace and power football over technically skilled football in on display in the Olyroos vs Indonesia.  We need to develop skills over pace at all levels
    • Milanovic & Brook should have been on the next flight home at half-time.
