Hahaha suck a fat one Lippi.

Although I tend to agree with Legionista that the game SHOULDN'T be played behind closed doors just because some fans are going wild on social media.

It would be absolutely fantastic for us if it was. Zero home ground advantage for our away leg!

I'm so excited for this match lol

    We can't hear Marcello co-ach..

    It should.

it probably wont though. even if its specified, they will cheat their way around it

I guess he's allowed in the sheds at half time though?

If you're suspended you're not supposed to have any contact with anyone the entire match. This includes half time.

We have a bunch of players on yellows too. La Rocca, Saba, Juric to name a few. Plus any others that have carried over from the Rd of 16.

An early away goal would be nice. Will force them to attack and then we can exploit the space that creates and score another one to seal the deal  :good:

will this ban mean zero communication between lippi and the whole subs bench and assistant managers?

This will all be very interesting as I have seen:

    - A coach in the stands on a mobile (obviously talking someone who is in contact the team) passing on messages to the team which I think is a grey area as it isn't clear who the banned manager is talking too

    - A coach in the stands on a walkie talkie giving directions straight to the bench, which the manager was given an extra match ban as he circumvented the rules (but this was in Europe)

    - he definitely will not be allowed to see the team after they have left on the bus to the ground including half time and post game too.

Any measure of safety may seem over the top and probably is, but we can never be too careful. Just imagine a worst case scenario if (touch wood) one or more than one of our players is/are harmed. It'll be devastating to think it could've been prevented but wasn't. Okay, so the closed doors option is maybe overkill but I really hope security is beefed up to the highest standards.

It actually worries me, just the pure quantity of death threats that some crazy Chinese kid will actually go through and actually do something to one of our players, Saba especially. Hopefully they will just beef up the security (if the Chinese owner can afford to take 1,000 supporters to Sydney) pretty sure he will high stronger/more security so it means that the game will be able to play in front of fans/full house even if it means an extra 10,000-20,000 security bill to the owner.

Graham Arnold was suspended for a game against Victory in Launceston two years ago, he was seen on the mobile about three times to his assistant. No one did anything. Does anyone really think that officials in China will do anything if Lippi gets on the phone?

WTF some of the trolling is going too far.

It's well past the line of trolling at this point. Beats me why racist baiting of opposition fans on Instagram is something to be proud of.

    LOL

    I don't have twitter/facebook etc.

Has it just become a **** flinging contest?

We have 7 players on yellows I believe. Brendon Santalab, Shannon Cole, Brendan Hamil, Daniel Alessi, Vitor Saba, Iacopo La Rocca & Tomi Juric.

    **** that's a lot of players...

Doesn't matter, all on the line to get through this. Then we park the bus first leg semi final away, come home and finish the job!

Do these cards carry through all the way to the final? I.e. any of these players receiving a yellow on Wednesday or in the semi final(s) (if we make it) will miss a game?

Cole's yellow (and I think Santalab)'s were carried over from the R16 matches so I presume they will carry over every match.

Why doesn't an AFC official just sit with Lippi to make sure he doesn't do anything. Is it that difficult.

Yes. It most certainly is for the AFC

**** it. We are a club that doesn't look for excuses, just reasons to succeed. Let Lippi be there and he can have sir Alex and mourinho with him for all I care.

    We are western Sydney.

Yellows are reset after the semi finals.

I was just about to say that thats pretty pointless, but then i remembered the final is over 2 legs...

I'm pretty sure that's supposed to be standard procedure in any case. When Arnold was in Launceston there was supposedly an official hanging out nearby who checked and saw he was on the phone to Zwaanswijk or John Crawley and seemed to think that was ok, apparently the person wasn't pitchside, but it was all very suspicious. As mentioned above, there's grey areas. We don't know the stipulations with the AFC and how pedantic they will be, or how sneaky Lippi will be.

    Have the players left yet?

Will they have enough time to acclimatise?

Post game comments by Popa and others mentioned they were leaving today

A few players have posted some pics on IG of them at the airport.

Don't underestimate the physical presence of your coach on the sideline, especially for a team expected to win easily.

Lippi is a massive presence, I hope this really rattles them.
