The boys need to dig deep and put on a show. If this is to be our last match of the season, and our last ACL match for a while they have to go out with all guns blazing. We are the Asian champions after all.

No one has mentioned that Guangzhou is safe and Cannavaro will probably field a team of lightweights and panel beaters to save their "good" players for league duty. While we unleash Bulut, Juric and all manner of fury upon Asia's resident posers

the best quote I've heard in ages . There is no point progressing if we can't keep our current squad

You don't remember that is exactly what happened last year?  We let 10 players including Ono, Polenz, Hersi, Beauchamp etc go and still won the whole shooting match.

By joe he's right! The game isn't till Tuesday, need to get rid of 10 players while there's still time!

Pretty sure some past champions haven't even qualified for the following year!

Its a less than honorable position to be in when you are counting on favors from other games to see you through...

I have no honor, so COYW

What time does the other game start is it straight after or simultaneous time slot?

Were missing a few players from yellow cards but as mentioned they are already through so it depends if they want revenge on us or they put out a weak team giving us a chance.

I'm praying to the football gods(Saint Dino of Kresinger) that we get through but won't be to disappointed if we don't.

Wander if they will make rude.

Other match kicks off same time. Wouldn't matter anyway though, because we need to win and the other match needs to be a draw. Any other result to that = we're out.

Given its their home game, they will probably not be fielding a weak squad. WSW have done some unbelievable things in the past so theres always a chance though

I don't know. Guangzhou will progress as group winners no matter the outcome of this match. Also they've lost and drawn their last two group stage matches. Plus they've got a hectic schedule coming up - CSL (1/5), ACL (5/5), CSL (10/5), FAC (13/5), CSL (16/5).

I'm less concerned with our game and more concerned with the Seoul v Kashima game. When a draw potentially knocks both teams out they rarely finish a draw. As the clock ticks down they both take more risks until someone makes a mistake or has a moment of individual brilliance (/NedZelic). Our only chance is if someone takes the lead, parks the bus then cops a stoppage time equaliser.

Yes it does look like we have no chance, so I think we will make it to the next round.

We have done the impossible countless times before, why not pull one out of our ass again?

It will taste extra sweet now that we really have to earn it!

Pulling things out of our ass and tasting it - never a good choice
