It all comes down to who has a stronger game with one on one for me. Whoever Carl chooses has to go up against Nabbout who has rediscovered his Newcastle Jets form .

Anyone got some thoughts on any exotic options to bet responsibly?  Am willing to throw some lose change at some long odds.  I am on Ladbrokes and cant see they have the option for individual players scoring.  Come from behind or leading/trailing halves could be interesting though.

Think Robbo might go defensive/counter attack for this game and be a bit deeper against Nabbout, Noone and Maclaren? Just to close the space in defence and stop the runs in behind.

    Even Ziegler has disappeared.

Ziegler has a quad injury which seems him 3-4 weeks away but where do you play him?

City are the benchmark atm if we walk away with a point and no injuries it will be a great result.

I believe our squad has the depth, and after the last several weeks hopefully the self belief, to pull off an upset.  I am really looking forward to seeing how the tactical aspect plays out.

After watching them against Perth, I wouldn't see it as an upset.

    But then, I'm a tragic.

Would love to share your enthusiasm but just over 3 weeks ago they came to our place and tore us a new one,  Was only 2-0 but that easily should of been a 6-0 loss for us.  I hope you are right and I am wrong though.

It will come down to consistency. Which WSW side will it be..? The WSW side that has won the last 3 or the WSW side that plays a good half or an ordinary half...?  90 min effort required and no slow starts or conceding early. City will come out and play fast and press looking for defensive errors. Have to stop Nabbout,Noone,Luna, Maclaren.

We have to be switched on from the get go. COYW. !

Also history says Melbourne City has some awful games and it comes when least expected,  hold them for 50 to 60 minutes and they may be right for the taking (easier said then done)

That back 3 is going to get shifted side to side all night. Baccus needs to be completely sure of his passing in that first ten. Once he gets past that mark he tends to kick on nicely.

If Troisi and Berni can carry some form and confidence from last week, we might pop up with a surprise here.

Its a genuine 6 point game for us here. If by some miracle we can pull of a win, it will give us the tiniest bit of breathing space

    It’s going to be Eetswa

I haven't achieved the nirvana level of Eetswa, but I'm feeling buoyant about this game. I'm predicting either a draw or a 1 goal win to us.

well it was nice mocking Garcia and Glory for playing a high defensive line

The lessons should be strong in their memory. Tonight we find out if we bullied some flogs or if there’s been genuine progression

Same lineup and subs as against Perth:

Margush, Wilmering, Natta, McGowan, Gordon, Russell, Baccus, Dorrans, Troisi, Ibini, Duke

Subs: James, Kamau, Cox, Yeboah, Mutch, Muller, Aquilina

12 minutes and we get our first attack. A one pass ball from Duke to Ibini that he kicked over the goal.

    LET'S F*CKING GO!

After all those goals that were denied last game, Ibini finally deserves one that's allowed. Good on him!

    • We've handled your physical games before, and we were still capable of beating your team as we have some before. Our defence should have done better but we had so many clear cut chances that both Nunez and Salah wasted them for their own selfish reasons.
    • Exactly, Marko needs to "cosplay" as Bielsa squat down and smoke ciggies
    • Sorry but you know I have to put the laugh icon on that don't you? I thought Osman's and Owen's assessment on it was pretty fair. You create chances but you don't finish em, and your midfield isn't up for the physical ugly stuff, Everton managed to turn the game into the physical stuff that suits us. The other thing is DCL bullied your defence absolutely monstered them. Trent Alexander Arnold is a **** defender, he can hit the odd Hollywood ball for the highlights clips but he is a really poor defender. Badly at fault both goals, first one where the f was he it was WSW esque he was way out of position. 2nd one ok he's unlikely to win a header against DCL but at least get up and make a challenge (maybe you pressure him to put it off target). He just stood there. Arguably St Virgil shouldn't have let himself get stuck behind Tarkovski. Finally St Virgil post match, having a whinge about 1230 kickoffs, was funny. Lid it's Wednesday night go buy an alarm clock. I think I might grow a disc beard in tribute the Dyche Man (sorry Shaun ft ever doubting you, you tactical genius you) Anyone noticed that since the Chelsea loss Dyche has dropped the white junior bank clerk shirt look and gone for the trackie manager look. We have one both games. Rudna take note
