Jumpei vs Marc Warren will be epic resulting in a Pio overhead bicycle kick bucket hat trick.

We should be able to win just by having Nico and Jumpei focusing on Warren. God he's awful.

Is this what happens when you start a match thread too early lol

:woah: But seriously though, sometimes we get so bogged down on a **** performance from the week before. I think it is good to start it early to wipe the slate sometimes. Plus in the build up if there is any mud slinging or news for the match it becomes all the more relevant. Finally, who doesn't like a bit of **** posting? Great to lift the mood in here after a pretty disappointing few weeks on & off the field.

+1 for early as opposed to late match day threads :xnod:

:woah: We need some either :stonedtrifiro: or :shockedtrifiro: or guy's profile pic of Pio to kick things along

To get things on topic, one of the pleasures I enjoy is listening to commentary & discussion around the EPL. One of the podcasts I listen to had an important observation about Man City & I think there is a close link to WSW.

It was Amy Lawrence on "The Game" (the times) who I have a bit of a crush on, but not just about that accent but her brillant observations & her admiration of our boy Mile (had a dig at Pards this week where she highlighted the lack of leadership at Palace as one of there issues. Mile was the club captain & he was one of the players that could grab the game by the scruff of the neck to change things around. Cabayae may give more in attack but definitely not the leadership that Mile has or had on the field whilst he was at Palace)

Anyway, they were talking about the City win over WBA. One pundit said that pep changed his tactics went to 4 at the back, went back to a formation that was so successful at Barca & it worked. Amy interjected, City scored two goals early on & were dominant but were in no way home & hosed. In fact she mentioned that City seemed to lose focus during the middle part of the game & was only towards the end that they managed to secure the wins. She noted that City whilst playing better weren't being clinical in there previous games which led to the 6 game winless streak.

I think this has very much been the bug bear of many WSW supporters who have seen the style changed when Carassco came to the club in S4 with an overhaul of both the playing style & personnel. For too many games over the past two seasons we have not made our possession count & not being clinical in front of goals. In our last two games, a dominant performance for the majority of the game has been wasted by not being clinical in front of goal. Jets & CCM were both lucky that we had been so wasteful which allowed them to keep in the game so when we were pushing for the next goal it left us vulnerable to a swift counter.

I would really like us to control the tempo of the game better after those early goals & not end up being too open. Late on in games when teams start to go at us, the confidence in our defence is sorely lacking meaning that one mistake often leads to panic giving the opposition a foot hold in the game. Confidence is a hard thing to build, requires consistent team selections, playing well, keeping clean sheets & winning games. Something I hope will happen sooner rather than later.

    You might be right Prydz:

De Bruyne is Butters - Albino

Navas is Neville - can't cross

Bravo is Redmayne - has a howler in them

Kompany is Topor Stanley - old player who's been there too long

Sterling (last season) is Sotirio - no explanation needed

David Silva is Nico - the short classy one

Iheanacho is Lachlan Scott - the future

John Stones is Cornthwaite - love a dodgy back-pass

Yaya Toure is Pio - the lazy one the coach hates

    Thoughts?

Maybe I minced my words a bit, no Man City & WSW are no where close but I did appreciate the effort you took there

I just found the observation interesting about the dilemma man city are having which hold many parallels to us!
