Looks like we've already knocked Ugarkovic scoring ability out of him.

He averages just under 2 per season and he's already scored 2.

5-1 disastrous result, trashed... time for a 6th.

Time to eff off CR. I'm totally over this Jekyll and Hyde bullshit from this team. Time for a new manager.

Shouldn't matter whether you slide in or not, the action of doing always results in the arm coming away from the body, you can't pencil-dive into a tackle.

VAR doesn't consider whether he shouldn't have tackled or not.

Theres also difference between defenders slightly sticking arms out when standing up and defenders sliding into tackles where the tackle always results in the arm being away from the body.

I agree. When diving into a tackle, your arms go up naturally. When jumping into the air, your arms also go up naturally. When running, your arms flail around naturally.

My point is this: as a referee, if I have to make additional consideration as to whether a certain arm position is natural or deliberate, I am almost certainly going to make inconsistent decisions. And players will remind me of it. How many times have I got "Oh, but you let him do it like 5 minutes ago?" during a game? Too many. So for me at least, in terms of game management, I'd rather just call everything. It's strict, it will sometimes not be fair, but at least it's consistent.

It's similar to how, if I don't have linespeople, I'll tell the captains I don't have linespeople and they adjust by not playing offside trap (or, they should adjust).

If you, as a player, play in a way which is conducive to having referee decisions go against you - for instance, playing an offside trap when I don't have a linesperson to rely upon or playing like Matt Simon and barging into everyone all game - I don't think the refereeing team can be blamed for decisions going against you.

    Oh it can my friend

we have a derby next week

I don't have any doubt we'll win the derby.... it's just the 50 odd games either side I worry about.

    Shambles.

Can't see us improving next year either.

"Mark my words" Mr Lederer, we are the joke of the A-League.

JT out. CR out. Probably 8 to 10 players.

Next season starts now. Play the youth, give them game time.

Nah, let the senior team run out of Derby luck and we can close the book on Robinson if he isn't sacked on Monday.

You know what, I agree with you.

I think its the rule/law that is quite dumb if anything.

With all the natural position rubbish they talk about, for me when sliding in, what Ziegler did is the natural position/action when sliding.

Further to the point, it ricocheted off of his leg into the arm, he doesn't intend to do that.

I thought the rule was that if it hit a limb, say your thigh, and knocked into your hand, even if away from the body, it wasn't a pen?

In the end it wouldn't have mattered, we are absolutely rubbish and for me thats all on Robinson, why change back to this rubbish formation and way of playing.

Those exceptions don't apply in situations where a player has lifted their arm to or above shoulder level, as well as having their arm away from their side if it's an "un-natural" position. The A-League considers pretty much any case of having arms out with space between the body & arm as un-natural.

CR is a rort. Talks **** in every press conference. Has us playing worse than what both Gombau and Babbel did.

Blind Freddy could see that this 3 5 2 formation doesn't suit our current squad.

Team lacked cohesion since round 1, and it was only individual brilliace and the odd passionate spell that got us results.
