Really want to go to the game on Saturday, so I was hopeful of the press conference showing some steps towards resolution. Their solution seems to be akin to trying to put more lipstick on the same pig. The theme of too little too late continues.

    Out btw

speaking of which, what are the WST doing for the brisbane match

WST boycotted CCM game & they will continue to do so, until a resolution happens

But but who will antagonise the remaining RBB members at the game?

Might just have to leave that to the cops this round

it's depressing watching this ccm v city game

it's weird without hearing game of thrones or tetris in the background :(

As I mentioned in the Round 9 thread, the crowd is so quiet so they have turned the mic's up so you can hear the ball each time it's kicked to try to provide some kind of noise.  Cheap sauce bottles being used this week that don't need a police cordon to protect them from potential thieves.

The FFA might get the message then. or they may not. Any optimism I have had over the last two weeks has been revealed to be naivety, so I guess we can only fight and hope. Edited by nmh94

Not sure about FFA getting the message from the CCM they only get 5,000 on a good day.

Gotta say well done to the CCM active. There arent many of them but they did there bit last Sunday and again last night. will need to start thinking about the band in a different light from now on.

That's not exactly true. They've been averaging close to 9k this season & average 7.5k last season. They've effectively had a quarter of their regulars not turn up. Thursday would have certainly seen a smaller crowd regardless of the boycott. However, that's still a very noticeable decrease in numbers. Edited by Alexander

Without the boycott they would have had between 8,000 - 9,000 there last night, maybe the lower end of that scale with it being a Thursday game. Not even the CCM would drop down to 4,000 for a normal game, we knock CCM here quite often (myself included) but they do have a loyal core of supporters, I would say between 7,000 - 8,000.

Hello chaps. I will be at your fine stadium on Saturday. We will be holding up banners and keeping the noise to a minimum (presume we won't be able to resist a few Rebecca Wilson/Alan Jones chants after several beverages) in solidarity.

    All power to you.

Feel for you guys. Paid your cash to come to Sydney, accom, tickets for game, and it's gonna be dead.

Power to you for doing your part tomorrow, and trying to keep the noise down!

At least it will be interesting... and you forget how many GCU games we've had to go to. I'm sure it will still be louder than that.

Toronto fans should wear them all the time, how could you ever support such a mindless club, I suppose could be worse, sould be a Bruins fan.

Well, at least they still have a team. I was a Thrashers fan from day 1. Even been to All-Star games, playoff games and the like when I could... now I don't even have a team anymore. Then, my Aston Villa are gonna get relegated and the FFA are trying to kill the league and our Wanderers... sads :(

Still deciding but more than likely I'm another out - with young Wanderboy. It'll be tough for him.

Can kids go inside at the Collector to watch the game?

Kids are allowed, with parental supervision, until 10:00 PM. :)

Better than Wentworthville Leagues Club. I will never step foot into that club again whilst my asshole points south. Here is a letter I penned to the CEO after 'attempting' to watch a game I couldn't attend a few weeks back in Melbourne. By the way I'm still awaiting a reply and doubt I will get one. (No need to read it all, just paragraph 7 onwards)

DO NOT GO TO THIS CLUB IF YOU WANT TO WATCH FOOTBALL WITH A FAMILY MEMBER WHO IS UNDER 18.

    Dear Sir

I am writing this letter of complaint after an incident which occurred last night at your club. I have been a member of this club for many years as have some of my family members. Admittedly after a very long serious illness I haven’t been to the club for quite a while but I am/was still a member and planned on becoming an active member once again, as I improve my health.

Last week my brother and I decided we wanted to take my elderly Italian born, proud Aussie father out to dinner to his favourite Italian restaurant Lucidos. He was worried that he would miss his favourite football game so we had it organised all week. We would meet in the TAB area near the large screen, watch the first game of A League and then head into Lucidos which was booked for 6pm. Then after dinner we would watch the second game Western Sydney Wanderers play Melbourne City on the big screen as a family.

There were 6 people, 3 generations of family members present and where joined by 2 family friends after dinner to watch the football. The game before dinner whilst waiting for the other family members to arrive was great. Once we all arrived we moved to the area near the large screen where the Magpies footy players hang out during their footy season and we watched the game and waited until our booked time in Lucidos was near. The friendly bar staff accommodated us perfectly, changing the channel for us onto another Fox channel for us to watch the game.

The dinner at Lucidos was exactly what we expected and what we have become accustomed to. The food was spectacular but the service was questionable at best, which was a first for our experience dining here. My elderly father is Diabetic and is required to take medication 15 minutes before he consumes any meal. We were booked in and placed at a table, right next to the station where the staff have control of the computer system they use for their work. Directly next to this area was a table of stainless steel jugs of chilled water, which was within arm’s reach.

We ordered our food and I asked a staff member for a glass of water so, ‘the old man can take some medication.’ We then waited patiently for about 10 minutes. I could have easily reached over and grabbed the water jug myself but considered this very rude so waited patiently.  Once we realised the entree’s were served we waited and still no water. I once again asked a different waiter for a glass of water and told them again the importance of this glass of water, ‘Its’ for medication’.

We again waited for another 10 minutes to no avail. My brother by this time got up and walked to the outside of the reatraunt bar and grabbed a glass of water for my father to have his medication. We thought nothing of this other than it being forgotten about twice. 20 minutes later a staff member comes over with a jug of iced water and 6 glasses, by this time it was too late as we had got it ourselves.

We had dinner and as usual it was fantastic, every meal was perfect, just as we had ordered it. We even had a phone conversation with my 5 year old son who was in Dubbo and passed the phone around the table to say hi. This pretty much made it 4 generations of the family present for an eventful night. My sick, frail and elderly father was so happy and proud.

Once we paid for the dinner we then wanted to head back downstairs to watch the football which by this stage had already started. We went to an area where the football was on and many other WSW supporters were present, watching the game. Once we sat down, within minutes a staff member came over and asked my nephew for ID. His father told them, he is 15 and in the presence of his mother, father, Uncle and grandfather, why would he need ID?

This was then when we were told we would all have to leave this area of the club due to him being underage. We explained that, yes, he is underage, we never once tried to hide this fact and he is in the presence of responsible adults, including myself who doesn’t drink alcohol at all.

This staff member walked off and we watched 2 other staff members come down obviously looking for my nephew once again. Now where we were sitting, they walked past 3 times and didn’t recognise him, he was sitting there watching the football with his family as we try and do as often as we can and the sole reason we went to the club in the first place as special family time for my near 80 year old father.

The next thing you know we are all converged upon by very rude staff and bouncers, rounded up like a bunch of terrorists and told to leave the area, one even placing his hand on my brother as he was walking away, which didn’t go down too well with him as his children were present and seen all of this unfolding in front of their eyes. We were stared at by every other member in the area, dressed down and ridiculed for all to see as we were herded away. This was so unnecessary not to mention so very embarrassing for all of us, including my elderly father who had no idea what was going on.

We once again converged onto the area where the Magpie footy players generally sit during their season. I asked one of the staff members could he change this TV screen to the football and turn the sound up so we could watch it as a family as we had planned all week. We were told yes we could and he would see to the request of having the TV changed. By this stage the game was well underway and we had missed most of it so far. We waited and waited but nothing was happening.

We then got told, the TV would not be changed but we could watch it on one of the ‘little screens over there’. I asked about the sound and they said sorry there is a gentleman watching the cricket.

There was no one at all in the area but people enjoying family time and eating their meals. No one was watching the TV at all. By this stage it was near half time. Our night had been ruined and the game was near halftime. I then lost it completely due to the disgusting treatment we all had received. I walked over and threw my membership card at the bar and told them to ‘stick this up your arse’.

Now, I am the first to admit I should not have done this but any human being in this same situation would have done this as you can only take so much and the pressure cooker relief valve will release. I was so angry that something so small had escalated into something bigger than Ben Hur. When it should really have been settled, with a smile, an apology and a TV remote control.

In my experiences in Hospitality and Senior Management of a NSW Government Department, I was always thought and teach my staff that the customer is always right and you should do everything in your realm of control to empathise with the complainant for a beneficial and satisfactory result for all. This is conflict resolution 101. Not show emphatic cause and instil fear to gain power and control at all costs.

I have been lucky to have been a member of this club for many years and I was embarrassed for the club and upset for my father who by this stage was visibly shaken, upset and couldn’t comprehend the situation after having a beautiful meal and wanting to watch the game with his family.

We then decided we would just go home as our night was already ruined, the game underway and would miss the rest of it anyway as it would be over before we got home. As we were walking out we once again were stopped by even more security personnel who made us feel even more marginalised and embarrassed by the attention. I quickly left as I was scared what I would do next so got myself out of the situation, went to the car and drove it around to the front door to pick up my father. We said our goodbyes to the family members, the night was ruined.

You claim to be a ‘family club’. From our experience it was definitely not the way were made to feel and treated in this situation.

I was so upset I had no sleep and can’t stop thinking about what happened last night. I am writing this to let you know of how upset our family are for ruining a night we had planned for weeks and before you think it’s alcohol talking, I can assure you the only alcoholic drinks ordered was one bottle of red wine for dinner which was shared between 4 people, less than a glass each, so there is no misguided judgement here in any of my story. I personally, do not drink at all.

I probably won’t be allowed back into your club and my father also told me he would never feel comfortable going there again as have everyone else there present. I’m not too sure if you will act on this or just throw it in the bin but at least I have had my say and I hope that you use this feedback to improve of the obvious lack of understanding, empathy and professionalism of your staff. How can I claim this, well quite easily.

I am a fully qualified Chef and Hospitality Manager who has over 30 years experience in the hospitality industry, half of that in Management and Teaching Hospitality at NSW TAFE and other Registered Training Organisations. I’m prepared to prove this all to you and send you my CV, if required at your request.

I really am not too sure if I want to come back to your club but my father was talking of using it as a fortnightly catch up place for all of our family, as it is only a few blocks away from his home, before this sad and unsavoury event took place.

I would really like to have the opportunity to speak to you or a representative of your choice to discuss this issue in detail as would my brother whom felt terrified of his treatment in front of his children and made out to be a criminal, just for speaking up on his thoughts of this situation.

I am looking forward to your reply

    Kind Regards
