Top tier isn't open because the 2 allocated away bays aren't sold out yet. Its standard for away trips we've been on in the past. They usually open other bays once the allocated ones sell out.

We'll be lucky to have 2 bays tomorrow.

    Nope, incorrect.

The top tier used to be the non active away support, they have shifted that over to opposite the active WSW fans in the western corner. The top tieir of the eastern stand will not be opened for anyone, even if the active away bays on the eastern side sell out, the non active bays in the western stand will not sell out, no chance. And even if they did they wouldn't open tier two on the eastern.

In season 1 they automatically had tickets on sale in the top tier for non active, last season we had to kick up a stink because they didn't have any non active ticket areas for WSW fans. so they begrudgingly opened the top tier for ticket sales, but it was open to Jets fans as well. You could by tickets to the top tier before the bottom had sold out.  Also we didn't sell out the bottom two eastern bays for the last trip there, loads of room in the corner most bit.

Take another look at the stadium ticket map and look at the western corner opposite the RBB ;) We look on track to match last seasons away attendance at the Jets to me.

We just bought standard GA tickets, not specified as Away supporters. I'm guessing that means we won't be counted in the A-league Away days numbers. but oh well As Ex-novocastrians the missus and I will get all nostalgic as we sit on the picnic rug on the hill* watching the football.

*eastern stand  Bay 8 now stands on the patch of grass we used to claim.

My wife and I are going.  We don't want to be in the active area [bays 9 & 10].  I was worried that the corner next to active [bay 11] would also be too active for us & I didn't fancy being on the other side of the stadium [why the hell split up the away support on opposite sides of the stadium - idiots!] - so we bought tickets in Bay 8 which was almost sold out at the time of purchasing.  I'm hoping it will be mainly full with Wanderers supporters.

Previously we've been in the upper level above the active bays - disappointed they're not available this time.

Trust me, I'm disappointed there were no upper tiers available either. That's where I was looking to buy tickets. Instead I bought at the back of bay 9 or 10 (can't remember).

    /shrugs

Same here I ended up buying at the back of bay 10....but wanted the upper tier

I have never seen the upper tier open this season at Newy....? maybe to save costs for security and staff??

Think that might be the case, totally closed off for home and away supporters I believe.

We are in the general admission area on the southern hill, great for kids. If it rains (which it might) I can easily see us nipping in to the back of the western corner

Hardly a seat sold in the away non active bays.

Not a surprise considered it's proximity to the Away Active Bays!

Sadly, I fear this means that Non-Actives will be in the Active Bays.

    "You're sitting in my seat!"

"Put that flag down it's blocking my view!!"

Ticketmaster, Newcastle and the FFA and go and get truly FFA'd.

    a) lack of sitting choices (ACL, Campbelltown, then this), b) gauging prices for tickets, food, drinks, c) over-policed

    I think we'll hibernate for a while.....
