On reflection, I put the loss last week down to dodgy kebabs in Newy. Whole team to be spotted at Watsup brothers in Condell park getting a mixed with the lot & 3-0 win. Vedran to punch Brosque into the net instead of the ball in the 90th for his weekly brainsnap and get a straight red to applause all around.

If you need any evidence for just how deflated HAL and WSW are - here it is.

Only two years ago the derby attracted a 60k crowd at ANZ, and 40k plus at Alliance. Not any longer. Now its family friendly, the ongoing support of ESFC by VAR and refs has left its mark, as has policing and security at both SOP and Moore Park.

    It's depressing, really.

ESFC to score from a dodgy Brosque penalty with controversial VAR decision?

    Now that is nailed on.

He'll miss and it will be retaken for encroachment

I am currently weighing up whether to go to a wedding reception without alcohol or stay home and watch this game Saturday night.  Not sure yet which is likely to be less painful.

I might just get in on that too.

What do we think about the referee?

He'll be as bad as every other referee every other week.

I wish we had the referee young Wanderboy had last week in his 17-1's game. He was ******* brilliant.

Bonus points for each broken tooth and / or stitch required to sow his fugly face back together. I'd go home happy, irrespective of the scoreline.

Wedding without alcohol? Are they just telling people not to come?

Alcohol is the only thing at a wedding that gets you through the boredom and pain. Why else would you go but for the free food and drink.

They should be serving full srength beers with free whisky chasers for every member who goes on Sat night...numb the pain.

Yeah too right, but in this case it is a cultural thing for the families involved.  My favorites back in the day were the Vietnamese and Cambodian weddings where they would put  bottles of cognac on every table.  There were always a couple of tables of non drinkers you could draw on to replenish your supply throughout the night.

MB: "We have to give everything for our supporters. They had not an easy season, they had many things to throw [at us?], but in this game we can pay a little bit back, and this is what we want to do."

Hamill: "The fire is burning in the belly to get a result this week."

This worries me, as last time he said something similar we got belted.

Last week baccus suggested that they were pumped for the jets game, which saw them through for an hour. Let's see if fire in the belly will be enough to play 90 minutes, or if they are just all talk, and full of kebabs and crap.

Just reading this thread and imagining Saturday night, not in my household but far away in Perth, Santa and Spiro with a couple of kebabs and a few coldies in front of the telly screaming "C'mon Wanderers beat this f****g bag of s**t!!"

Don't know about the kebabs. They're sh1t in Perth. They put egg in them over there. As for the rest of it, spot on.

If that be the case, team should walk out the field as a protest.

    • Best shown by a chance Toure had when an Indonesian player had fallen over, he had a simple ball about 10 meters that would have put one of our attackers clean through for a one on one. He over-hit it and ruined the chance. Also falling for the same old Asian team diving & time wasting, by giving away stupid fouls to let them fall over and sit on the ground for minutes. 11 minutes stoppage time is probably half what it deserved.
    • Yet again, a failure of pace and power football over technically skilled football in on display in the Olyroos vs Indonesia.  We need to develop skills over pace at all levels
    • Milanovic & Brook should have been on the next flight home at half-time.
