A really Scrappy Win. Would have been different if Haliti had buried some of those chances. Different game when Dino came on. People slag him off but he draws defenders in and gives space to other players. The Protest was respected by most of the crowd. Hopefully we wont be termed as Flogs by some in the RBB. Not all of us are 18-20 years old anymore. Does not mean we support the team any less.

^^ this Dino comes on and it all changes for the better

The rest of the crowd was great IMO... Shivers down my spine when the "rbb" chant was started.

Can you ask for a better group of fans than what we had today? When they started chanting RBB it was so amazing, I almost teared up [kinda ashamed to admit that]. And then that roar when we leapt onto our feet.

    But, now for the negatives:

1 - I thought the march was a little rubbish today. Too many people just walking and chatting, maybe clapping at best. The chanting at Riverside was also out of time and weak. Not sure how we can fix this - maybe just more people being aggressive and yelling at people to start chanting.

2 - The team wasn't at its best at all today, a scrappy win. But got the 3 points, all that matters. We're missing a decent striker so badly though... we should've scored at least two more times, and we could not get it in from open play today.

3 - Just realised that this could be potentially my last game that I see live! Unless our finals series games are played at a bigger stadium. It's been an amazing year, and will definitely be smart enough to get myself a membership next season.

It seems someone forgot to pass the message on to the MC / ground announcer guy about the silent protest ... LOL ... He was trying to rev up the crowd before the game "Let's hear it for the Wanderers!", expecting a big loud cheer back from them and got dead silence instead ... LOL.

The funny thing was that he must've thought that people didn't hear it, so he tried it again and got exactly the same silent response! Ha-ha!

Great win, 5 points clear at the pointy end and higher pax than Spazzamatta Eels the night before for NRL opener. Doesn't get much better than that.

From the eastern stand: there were a couple of nobs who obviously still didn't really get the meaning but you could sense a huge reluctance from many in the crowd to cheer during the first 20. I felt the 'rbb' chanting was an appropriate show of respect; appreciating your cause and welcoming your voice.

I felt SO bad for him when we snubbed him. Had to be done though.

yeah wtf was up with that... The response in colours unite us all was piss poor on the bridge... WDYSF in the park went off though. :D I got elbowed in the head... Getting a shiner coming up next to my eye. thanks whoever did that. hahaha.

WDYSF always goes off - went down and now my arm is proudly bruised. But that's also a problem, a lot of people just like that chant so much they almost come to the march to do it only and don't give a flying cow about the other ones.

I'm a journalism student at UTS, following up on the removal of the banners at tonight's game. If you were one of the people holding up a banner, I'm keen to talk to you. Please get in contact with me at maxjgriUTS@gmail.com if you're interested in helping out.

Please publish this when done, if possible - I don't have the time to do my usual followup on controversial RBB event article this week :) That was ridiculous, I feel like we need a massive Rage Against the Machine concert in protest.

    • The guy is a professional footballer, even playing on a different side to his preferred, the concept of defending doesn’t change. He hardly looked like he was giving it a go. I think all too often we can be so lenient on mistakes made by players across the league. Let’s not forget that they are professionals, they get paid (a bloody decent amount) and should have the skillset required to atleast be able to do a job in a different to preferred position. It’s not like all age, where one week they are banging then in as a striker and then next they’ve got the gloves on as the regular keeper is away with the missus.
