The Wanderers run without a win continued as they lost 1-2 against Melbourne Victory tonight.
Melbourne Victory opened the scoring, a half-clearance from a corner being smashed in on the volley by Carl Valeri. New Wanderers signing Nick Kalmar scored the equaliser, Rukavytsya cutting the ball back for the ex-City midfielder who made no mistake with his shot from distance.
Just as the Wanderers were piling the pressure on, hoping to break the Victory down for a winner, the key moment came when Berisha managed to bullock his way into forcing a shot that was saved by Covic, but fell to the feet of Gui Finkler who lifted over the stricken keeper in the 80th minute.
The Wanderers go into the Asian Cup break having failed to win a single domestic match this season. For the Wanderers to take anything from this season they look like needing a drastic change in personnel on the pitch and tactically, with the old standard 4-2-3-1 formation being ineffective on both sides of the ball.
