Brisbane Roar vs Sydney FC - Thursday 8:00PM - Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane.

    • Team & Ladder Ranking: Brisbane Roar are 5th. 9W 5D 12L. 32 Points.
    • Last Result: 2-0 Win, home against Melbourne Heart.
    • Ladder Movement: This is a huge match with massive finals implications. Brisbane would secure 5th place with a win. A draw puts them on very shaky ground for the rest of the round, with a Newcastle or Perth win seeing them finish outside the top 6. A loss would mean a Perth draw or win would push them out, a Newcastle win would as well.
    • Keep Up The Good Work: Thomas Broich has been repeatedly and constantly criticised for his failure to shoot when in a position to do so. He finally unleashed and scored a wonder goal from long range that killed any chance Heart had of winning the match.
    • Things They Could Have Done Better Last Week: It's hard to fault any of the players on the pitch for Brisbane, Heart didn't bother turning up and the Roar got the job done.

    • Team & Ladder Ranking: Sydney FC are 6th. 9W 5D 12L. 32 Points.
    • Last Result: 1-1 Draw, away against Western Sydney Wanderers.
    • Ladder Movement: Like their opponents, winning would seal a finals berth. A draw is worse for Sydney than the Roar as their goal difference is -8, which would mean either a Perth or Newcastle win would see Sydney FC drop out of the top 6. A loss would be a disaster as it would also allow a Perth draw to kick them out of the finals, or a Newcastle/Wanderers draw if Sydney have lost this match by 4 or more goals.
    • Keep Up The Good Work: Del Piero capitalised on a shocking error from Topor-Stanley.
    • Things They Could Have Done Better Last Week: Discipline failed Sydney FC again, Emerton getting a stupid straight red for a ridiculous lunging tackle. Ivan Necevski was at fault for the Shannon Cole goal, his wall placement was poor and allowed Cole to directly strike at goal around the wall.

Prediction: Brisbane high on confidence, wanting to secure a final at home, Sydney FC over confident will be taken apart. 5-0 Brisbane.

Newcastle Jets vs Western Sydney Wanderers - Friday 5:30PM EDT - Hunter Stadium, Newcastle.

    • Team & Ladder Ranking: Newcastle Jets are 8th. 8W 7D 11L. 31 Points.
    • Last Result: 1-1 Draw, away against Adelaide United.
    • Ladder Movement: Simple equation. Win to have any shot of making the finals. A draw needs Sydney FC to get pumped by Brisbane, and for Perth to lose. A loss is the end of their season.
    • Keep Up The Good Work: They had a week off so it's hard to really talk about this, and their last match was a draw. Not much form going into this one.
    • Things They Could Have Done Better Last Week: Same thing on the things they could have done better. They just need to hope the week off means they are rested and ready to go.

    • Team & Ladder Ranking: Western Sydney Wanderers are 1st. 17W 3D 6L. 54 Points.
    • Last Result: 1-1 Draw, home against Sydney FC.
    • Ladder Movement: Win or draw and they will lift the Premiers Plate (in two weeks because the FFA are idiots). Lose and they need CCM to draw or lose against Melbourne Heart.
    • Keep Up The Good Work: Shannon Cole has kept up his impressive form, taking his chance in the first team squad not only with some good defence but stepping up to draw the Sydney Derby with a well taken free kick.
    • Things They Could Have Done Better Last Week: It was hard to watch Topor-Stanley make the first big mistake of his Wanderer career, giving the ball away to the one player in the match you never want on the ball, that being Del Piero. But Topor did just that, and was punished for it. Hopefully Beauchamp will be fit to play and solidify the central defensive pairing with La Rocca suspended.

Prediction: Western Sydney have a number of injuries across the park, but Newcastle are 8th on the ladder for a reason. Wanderers to do the business. 2-0.

Central Coast Mariners vs Melbourne Heart - Saturday 5:30PM EDT - Bluetongue Stadium, Gosford.

    • Team & Ladder Ranking: Central Coast Mariners are 2nd. 1W 6D 5L. 51 Points.
    • Last Result: 2-0 Win, away against Adelaide United.
    • Ladder Movement: If the Wanderers didn't win or draw against Newcastle then the Mariners can lift the Premiers plate (in two weeks, because of a moronic FFA decision) by winning this match.
    • Keep Up The Good Work: Their first half was superb, they didn't give Adelaide a sniff in defense or attack, all around excellent play.
    • Things They Could Have Done Better Last Week: The second half was horrible, they allowed Adelaide to get completely over the top of them, and were lucky to stay in front. The 2-0 scoreline didn't reflect how well Adelaide (eventually) played in that second half.

    • Team & Ladder Ranking: Melbourne Heart are 9th. 8W 3D 15L. 27 Points.
    • Last Result: 2-0 Loss, away against Brisbane Roar.
    • Ladder Movement: The only thing to play for in this match is the pride of the team and avoiding the wooden spoon, so they want to match or better the result of Wellington.
    • Keep Up The Good Work: The fans (shoutout to @NatalieTosh) who made their way up to Brisbane to support their team.
    • Things They Could Have Done Better Last Week: I'd be here all night if I wanted to do this thoroughly. A huge end of season inquest must happen at Melbourne otherwise they look set to repeat this crap season in 2013/14.

Prediction: Heart don't want to be there and will play like it. The reality is this result comes down to the Wanderers result. If CCM have something to play for they will demolish Heart 4-0, if not then it could go either way, especially if Arnold does as promised and plays his youth side.

Perth Glory vs Adelaide United - Saturday 7:45PM EDT - nib Stadium, Perth.

    • Team & Ladder Ranking: Perth Glory are 7th. 9W 4D 13L. 31 Points.
    • Last Result: 3-2 Win, away against Melbourne Victory.
    • Ladder Movement: After Brisbane thumped Sydney FC 3-1, Perth know that a win will put them ahead of Sydney FC and Newcastle regardless of the Wanderers vs Newcastle match result, while a draw would be enough if Newcastle drew against Western Sydney. Lose and they take a holiday along with Heart & Wellington.
    • Keep Up The Good Work: Scoring three goals against any team is no mean feat, and Perth managed it against top 4 side Melbourne Victory. Among the three for Glory were two glorious efforts, the first a stunning volley but Chris Harold, and the winner being a Josh Risdon curler. They might require nothing less than a win so they will need goals.
    • Things They Could Have Done Better Last Week: They might only need a draw instead, meaning they can't concede. Their defence was rather poor and cracked under Melbourne's late pressure, they need to stand strong.

    • Team & Ladder Ranking: Adelaide United United are 4th. 12W 4D 10L. 40 Points.
    • Last Result: 2-0 Loss, away against Central Coast Mariners.
    • Ladder Movement: The various permutations are such that a win or draw might be enough to finish 3rd, and when you consider the form Brisbane will be taking into the first elimination final, that position could be a key determination in who advances through to the semi-finals.
    • Keep Up The Good Work: The second half in attack was brilliant, except for their finishing. Unfortunately they suffered a late goal and cracked the woodwork from a ridiculous would be goal of the year from Iain Ramsay but they were definitely in the match during the second half.
    • Things They Could Have Done Better Last Week: Defensively they came out half-asleep and were on the back foot from very early, and then conceded late while trying to salvage a point. They can't let their concentration lapse.

Prediction: This match could easily be a preview of a week 1 finals match, should Adelaide lose to Perth they could be 4th and 5th. I think Perth have the momentum and desire. 3-1. .

Wellington Phoenix vs Melbourne Victory - Sunday 2:30PM EDT - Westpac Stadium, Wellington.

    • Team & Ladder Ranking: Wellington Phoenix are 10th. 7W 6D 13L. 27 Points.
    • Last Result: 2-1 win, away against Perth Glory.
    • Ladder Movement: They need to better the Heart result to prevent winning the wooden spoon.
    • Keep Up The Good Work: They didn't play last week, so at least they couldn't lose.
    • Things They Could Have Done Better Last Week: I really can't be bothered remembering who played for them 2 weeks ago, so go Ifill!

    • Team & Ladder Ranking: Melbourne Victory are 3rd. 12W 5D 9L. 41 Points.
    • Last Result: 3-2 Loss, home against Perth Glory.
    • Ladder Movement: Match or better Adelaide's result vs Perth and secure 3rd. Lose and perhaps end in 4th. It is not only important for the final series, but as a potential Asian Champions League play-off position depending on the final series results.
    • Keep Up The Good Work: Connor Pain continues to be a pain to opposition defences, creating Melbourne's second goal and having only a Danny Vukovic wonder-save preventing him from getting on the score-sheet himself.
    • Things They Could Have Done Better Last Week: They let in three goals. Ange was livid at his team's lack of effort, saying they were complacent and expecting a simple easy game of football and were proved otherwise.

Prediction: If Ange has pumped his players up this could turn into a massacre, in front of very few fans as well.

Summary: JAR, Erebus and Turner discuss football, realising that they are the only media outlet in Sydney to have done so this week. The actual football match played and being discussed was between the Western Sydney Wanderers and Sydney FC. The trio also discuss the chances for each team to making the finals, transport and the RBBQ before the last regular season game in Newcastle. Turner's infamous 'Who Am I?' segment gets another run. TWCDBLW possibly meets it's untimely demise too.
