Western Sydney Wanderers have signed a number of players to extensions to cover the 2013/14 A-League Season.
Several weeks of ongoing negotiations at the club to keep players at the club past the current season has begun to bear fruit, with a number of players signing up for next season.
The list of players who have extended their stay at the club is:
- Right fullback Jerome Polenz
- Utility fullback/winger Shannon Cole
- Left fullback Adam D'Apuzzo
- Central defender & Captain Michael Beauchamp
- Goalkeeper Ante Covic
- Defensive midfielder Mateo Poljak
Several players are believed to have signed two year deals from the beginning.
- Central defender Nikolai Topor-Stanley and
- Fullback Reece Caira are confirmed as being on two-year contracts.
- My understanding is that striker Kwabena Appiah-Kubi and
- Central midfielder Aaron Mooy also have two year deals.
Negotiations continue between other players. Players unsigned for next year, or have no public indication that they are on a two year contract include:
- Winger Tahj Minniecon.
- Fullback Tarek Elrich
- Striker Joey Gibbs
- Winger Youssouf Hersi
- Defender Iacopo La Rocca
- Wing forward Mark Bridge
- Goalkeeper Jarrad Tyson
- Midfielder Jason Trifiro
- Wing forward Labinot Haliti
- Striker Dino Kresinger
- Marquee attacking midfielder Shinji Ono
Lyall Gorman spoke recently in the media about contract renewals, that the club would start more discussions next week after the Central Coast Mariners fixture. With the recent injury to Dino Kresinger it is also likely that the Wanderers will dip into the transfer market to bring in competition for Joey Gibbs and Dino when he regains his fitness.
