If only they were Wed ... can't make any of them, bugger! By the way, just watched TWG tonight and the club forum war aired from Mounties, did a good piece and showed much of what we already knew.

    azza,

FFA still have to hold a forum in the dark south for those fans who live between C'Town and the Southern Highlands. .

How about we come up with a list of points to make at the next meeting that don't seem to have gotten airplay at the previous meetings?

For one, I recon make the point that the first Sydney derby should not be in round 1. maybe a few rounds in, and not at ANZ?

    Top idea (both of them).

Could I add that the idea of supporter representation on the board needs to be stressed if this is truly going to be a supporters club

That the structure of the board etc, especially with regards to ongoing supporter consultation, also needs to be clarified

That the opportunity for logo design be thrown open to supporters not just to vote on but to create

That club involvement at grassroots level beyond tokenism is what is going to make this thing big.

I'd tweet these but no facebook or twitter for me as I am a committed luddite.

Given the rain our training will be off so a great chance for all of us who normally cant attend Tues / Thurs to come.

I will be there. Will we be meeting somewhere in the club prior for a beer and a hello?

The Sports Bar would be an ideal gathering point.

Just wear something Black & Red and we'll know you are family.

Think the shout about grass roots is a big issue. Not up with the plans of valentine pk after the fedral govs funds. But an academy is an absolute must in bringing through young players not just the nsw premier league or ressies.

This needs to be discussed imo.

All this talk of academies and similar....is it really necessary to discuss now when the board, coach, team name, colours, logo, home ground haven't even been decided yet?

They have a few months to get a team together to compete in next season. Academies can only be looked at and set up once the team and club structure is in place and stable.

btw, this is not a dig at you BoxtoBox, its just something that has bothered me at the forums when the focus has gone that way for way too long.

It is a good point Erebus makes ... there just isn't time right now to be worrying about certain things - cart before horse. We have a stupidly short period of time to get our support together, engage the community so they know we exist and to get them excited enough to attend the games ... most business people would want 2-3 years for such a thing. We have 7 months at best ... priorities are small scale but hugely important right now. Let the big stuff like Academies happen after we get established, doesn't hurt to mention it or want it though for sure.

I think why it comes up though us because one of the things people want out of the club is proper engagement in the the community. I don't think anybody imagines for a second that academies are going to be set up from scratch now and that club ambassadors and coaches are going to be sent out to schools to coach local kids how to play in neat triangles or whatever. But the message is, when the FFA is asking what kind of club do we want, that's what we want.

Most District Associations already have academies so its just a case of being them under the one umbrella until the WSF Academy is established.

Curious as to what Mark Rudan's input will be. He's sky blue all the way and obviously bias during coverages.
